Title: 0.9z-8 Unattended Alt-N (next track)
Post by: Tore on January 04, 2013, 12:12:21 am
Hi Peter!

I use the same settings as you do.

When i load a album and start plying in Attended i get this message: because of you settings only one track will play

When i press Alt-N in Unattended the screen is going back to XXHighEnd (Attended) and i can see that next track is selected. Then music stops

Hi Tore,

You must take it that when this message appears, Alt-N won't work either. I should add that to the message -somehow- (which would really be inconvenient, because when using Unattended no message should appear while exactly there it's useful) ...

Regards,
Peter

Tore - I regard it Impossible.

But don't tell anyone that I am playing with SFS=2 and the low buffer sizes again for a day or 5 by now. It's a secret. :secret:

So with the not crazy high SFS / Buffersize combination Alt-n just works okay.

I have checked here with buffer size 4ms and SFS=2

The lowest SFS i can play Unattended with is 55, but it is the same problem with Alt-N

Okay, I wasn't clear;

It is about the Q1 x Q1Factor x Device Buffer Size (in Settings). The factor-total of this must be lower (like 14 x 1 x 4096 will be OK).

Peter

PS: I said it would be impossible to let Alt-n work for these super-high settings, but it is merely that I don't see priority in it for the upcoming time. This really is difficult stuff and I know from myself that I'll accept Alt-n not working once I find the SQ better anyway (which latter is not what I want to put through your throat !)
