Title: SFS setting 2/160 issue
Post by: Robert on January 07, 2013, 08:26:15 am
Everything working fine but when dialling in SFS 2/160 I get this  message going to unattended:

Your sfs is to low to allow unattended playback. Equation is 51380224 to be smaller than 2000000.

What does this mean?

It works fine in attended SFS 2/160.

Hi Robert,

There has been more discussion about this and this is about "math" which is hard to explain in a description in advance. This is why the message shows those numbers, so you can see "what you are doing".

If all is right, when you slightly change Q1, at some stage it will go. So, that 2000000 number you see represents the SFS of 2 (million) and the other number represents Q1 x Q1Factor x DevBufSize (in Settings). Changing the SFS can solve it, but changing that buffer size result will also.
When you slightly change either you will see the numbers in that message grow to eachother (or grow away from eachother) and so you can see when you are going to the right direction and how you can dial in a setting which is the closest to what you actually wanted.

In the end this is about the prevention of playpack stopping unexpectedly, ot better put : out of my control. This will mean plops when Phase Alignment is active and we don't like that. So, it is self-protection so to speak.

That Attended goes all right in this case is by design (read : the two modes are very different and what I could solve for Attended I could not for Unattended; notice that the situation the other way around exists just the same; what works for Unattended does not for Attended (comes along with a message just the same)).

Regards,
Peter
