Hey,

This is a web-service. So, you say that music via web sounds better than via XX locally? I cannot test as Spotify is N/A in my country yet.
Still, I do use Grooveshark and it sounds good, but it does not use KS, it runs via regular Windows audio path. Have not tried to compare Grooveshark sound to XX sound.

iīm comparing to a streaming service beacause is where i feel diference.. localy the xxhighend is the best player for me.
i donīt know if they use some sort of filter or something..

hi Peter,
do you think they use some sort of filter to produce that soundstage feeling.?

Well, first you could do is find out what's actually "transmitted". I don't know anything about Spottify but it can easily be MP3 of course.

But you better first agree about my MP3 experience. I could be the only one thinking this ...

It's been a while since I last posted something here and maybe not good to say, but I have also not used XX for a while, too.

But, now Spotify is in my country and I do listen to it. Well, it sounds hell well - both - on my Android phone via Bluetooth phones (especially in extreme quality. I can afford that as in Latvia we have 6th fastest internet on planet, good coverage of 3G/4G and big enough data plans) as well as on my home (W7 laptop based with JKDAC32) setup (the one I used for XX before). I also use to listen via FM modulator in my car and it still sounds wonderful there. So, they manage to do some magic there...

About Spotify stream - they use OGG Vorbis encoding...

My experience with MP3 is that is has a reduced, greatly reduced, soundstage.

Perhaps Spotify is assuming that listeners are using ear buds and they apply a binaural filter to simulate the soundstage.  There is much magic that can be performed with this.  I just bought a new car and the faux surround sound is great, with instruments all around.
