Title: 0.9z-8-3a PC freeze
Post by: Gerard on March 16, 2013, 04:49:35 pm
Peter,

With the previous version i talked about that the pc sometime's stops en freezes. That got better when i set the balanced load higher. From 43 to 60.

Now with this version i still have the stops. What happens is this.
XX stops playing and i still can get the mouse moving around. But when i hit a button like STOP or another the pc freez. And a reboot is needed.

I have entered the log's maybe you can see something.

PC at 3.4 GHZ and 38\40 degrees

 :)

Gerard,

Nothing to be seen in the log files. But if you have your logging on it can be the reason within itself (way too large).

Neh just have set it on for the logs... Maybe a fresh W7 just to be sure.

Music stops in the middle of a track.

Thanx anyway...

But before you think this is XXHighEnd or the OS ... I don't think so.
Didn't you say this was about setting your CPU's frequency too low ? :dntknw:

Yes first i thought is was but now i have it at 3.6 GHZ. So that could not be it.
With the previous i had it with a too low balanced load setting.

 :scratching:

And since i do not hear anybody else about this.

Hum... Allow me ;) I rarely listen to many songs at a time, but yesterday I decided to put 4-5 songs and play unattended. XXHE was activated (red title, red border cover art, no UNDEMO). That was checked after the stop happened.

It happened once. After I played series of 3 songs with a little higher Q1 (14) and all seemed fine.

When it happened, I had: Q1 = 6, Q1x = 1, SFS = 12, Xtweaks OFF, the rest equal to my sig...

Hey Alain,

Was it a stop or also the freez after hitting a button on xx?

Yes, I hope it is clear that I responded to the freezing alone. The stops is another matter (and undoubtedely XXHighEnd settings etc. related).

Hi Gerard,

Like Peter mentionned, it was just a stop. No freeze...

Ok!

Peter,

What is your setting in the memory setting in the BIOS? 2133?

Gerard,

1333 IIRC. But I am not using that PC. Anyway, just the default.

Ok i got this after a lot of trials.

I have read on the internet that sometimes Dram memory packs can cause this when set to a manual setting.

You have to use one of the XMP profile settings instead.

After one week not a single one anymore.

  :ok:
