Title: 09-z9 Music stops after 6 seconds
Post by: Tore on May 26, 2013, 11:56:46 pm
It is only playing 6 seconds here, then music stops.
It is with W7 and my normal settings (see sign.)
I have tried many different Q settings, but no way.

Tore,

Did you install 0.9-z9 in a brandnew folder ?
I don't know what else to ask, but something must be wrong. Ah, that is what you thought. :)

Did you *change* any XXHE settings after the install ? or did you just let it all as it was and now it does not play ?

Regards,
Peter

Peter,

yes, 09z-9 is in a new folder.

I started with your W8 settings, the problem have been there after that.

The last thing i tried was to lower the SFS and now it is no music. XXHE starts but no music.

So, your are not exactly playing with your W7 settings (like in your Sig). Maybe I don't understand, but why apply (my) W8 settings to W7 ?

If you don't know anymore how exactly everything was set (or if your Sig is not complete (I did not check it)) then you can always copy my settings for W7.

When it works again, change settings step by step so you can see what causes it. But for example, when you did not follow the "rule" of letting your old XXHighEnd install stay where it was, your Device Buffer Size will now be 1024 and Q1=14, and for the NOS1 this will be too low I think. So, at 4096 the lowest which plays is Q1=5 or 6. Thus, 5 x 4096 = 20480 while 1024 x 14 = 14336.

I hope you understand !

I have uninstalled and installed 09z-9 again.
I`m back with my W7 settings (your settings)
No problem when i started playing first time.
But the problem came back in UnAttended, and it stays there when not in Unattended.

Now i have a new problem: I can`t get out of UnAttended

Do you mean Unattended or Minimized OS ?

If you really mean Unattended, Alt-x does not bring back XXHighEnd ?

:scratching:

Any message ?
In normal Attended Mode ?

Ok, switch on Logging, quit XXHighEnd and restart. Attempt playback and when music stops do nothing (!!) but grab the log files (XX, X3 and X3PB) and post them.

Ok ?

Peter

Under your XX folder in \TemporaryData\.
If you switched on Logging of course (at the bottom in Settings).

Yes, thank you for mentioning Tore. I forgot (since our emails).
This can be useful to others.

But I don't understand much of this, so far ...

Best regards,
Peter

Well, sort of, because that email exchange was with someone else.

Anyway, in both cases the problem was solved by switching from Norwegian to English. So clearly something in non-English causes this.
The problem seems related to the decimal separator when it is set to "," (comma) which is the default for some countries/langauges. Set it to "." (dot) and all is OK.

Of course I will solve this ASAP.
