Title: Remaining Services will not stop / Strange colours
Post by: Tjeerd on June 05, 2013, 07:01:59 pm
Hello All,

I’m new on this forum and i’m not a computer/windows expert.

I have XXHE version 09-z9b on an audio-PC form “ikbenstil” (W7Pro / i7 / 2x SSD / NAS). I use a firewirecable from pc to DAC (Weiss DAC2).

I have de following 2 problems:
Problem 1 in short:
Remaining Services will not stop, dare for I can not go in to min-OS.
Extra info problem 1:
Download, install and activation seems to have gong wright (texts colour xxhe is red, undemo texst at Processor Core App. has gong and the wallpaper bars are red).
To set de settings and play in attended go’s well.
Playing in unattended (OSD settings: all Stop Services off/blue and all Keep Services on/red) go’s well.
Playing in unattended (OSD settings: Stop Dekstop on/red, Stop WASAPI on/red, Keep Lan on/red) go’s well.
When I now activating Stop Remaining Services (when playing a track) I get de pop-up “Wait for services to stop (done when message disappears)”. After 5 min., after 10 min., after 30 min. this pop-up is still dare, nothing seems to happen. Only de computer is “stuck”. The only thing I can do is to shut-off the pc by pushing the on button.

Has some one an idea to fix this?

Problem 2:
See pictures.
This is how XXHE shows it self’s in my situation.
Basic colours are black and white (instead off blue) and the buttons “play”, “stop”, “clear”, etc. are not visible only the blue and red dots.

Has some one an idea to fix this?

Thanks, up front.

Greetings,

Tjeerd

Hi there Tjeerd, and :welcome:

Your first problem for 99% sure will be caused by a virus scannner. When you recognize you have/use that, remove it from the system (deactivating usally is not possible). And notice that no anti virus program is good for audio.
When you don't recognize that you have (installed) it, please call IkBenStil, because they will know then.

Your second problem *may* be solved fully by sliding the little slider in the left edge of the screen upwards. It is hard to see though, because your screenshots are a bit small. But try it.
Your buttons will come back, but maybe the remainder is still odd. So please show me a screenshot of the new situation, but try to make it larger (preferrably the real size as you see it).

Let me know what happens and good luck with it !
Peter

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your comment.

I'm not aware off a virus scanner is installed,so i will call Ikbenstil tomorrow (and let you no).

I will try to find and move the little slider and let you no the result by posting new screenshots.

Greeetings,

Tjeerd

Tjeerd,

In your XX Folder there's a PresetLoader.XXSI.
Replace that with the PresetLoader-FreshInstall.XXSI which is also in your XX folder.

Preserve both for maybe later usage. So do this :

1. Rename PresetLoader.XXSI to something else.
2. Copy PresetLoader-FreshInstall.XXSI to PresetLoader.XXSI.

Let me know whether this helps.

I sure have seen this before (also with myself), but I don't know how it happens.
Was it suddenly so after you upgraded to 0.9z-9b ?

Whatever comes from this, let's continue it by email please.
(and note that it was very correct to start this on the forum).

Peter

PS: When IkBenStil doesn't know about any antivirus installed, there's a procedure to find out. More about that later, when needed.

Update :

The strange screen was solved by indeed the PresetLoader.XXSI solution as per my previous post.

The Unattended which didn't want to go was caused by Microsoft Security Essentials which had to be uninstalled (this can be regarded a virus scanner).
