Title: Email "spam"
Post by: PeterSt on October 20, 2013, 01:25:44 pm
Hi all,

http://geeksofgotham.com/2012/01/23/flipora-flip-infoaxe-spam/

I recently received such an email, and it looks like any normal "want to be friends" thing. Whether this is harmful or not ... I don't know. But since this has to be based upon your own book of email contacts with presumably worse - gmail which just is Google-owned, don't dig this as explicitly sent from anyone. And notice that you will know the so-called sender in the first place, so you tend to answer "Yes" upon this email (see link for how it looks like).

I still don't care much, as long as nobody thinks I send such "likes", which can perceivedbly have happened, that is, how it comes across.
I never do such things.

Peter

I have received about 7 of these from the same guy who wants to be friends. I never add friends this way and always send such messages (or any other unsolicited ones) directly to the trashcan without thinking twice.

Who needs social media to get real friends anyhow!

Bert

I do the same when I receive this kind of email... Apart from the usual "Enlarge your P...." or "Dear friend, I am the widow of... I have 4 million dollars..." Bla-bla-bla... I will begin to think that I attract all the widows from important but deceased presidents from Africa... ;)
