Title: Device not supported
Post by: Leo on January 12, 2014, 12:41:34 pm
A minor problem that I notice since 1.186a is that after rebooting (sometimes) and now once after punching alt n while playing an album allready for a couple of tracks, I get the message that the device can not play, format not supported and some other messages. When I check the settings the device has changed from KS Phasure to Headphone. When I change the device back to KS Phasure it behaves normally again.
Just hickups of W8 or something else ?

regards,
Leo

Leo,

The basis of this will be the way XXHighEnd allocates the device now (or better : sets its settings from the last saved ones), and this doesn't always go in a decent fashion. So once in a while (say once per week) I have similar (well, I guess it is similar/the same) BUT it always end up right because in MinOS I have no other devices (which deviced should be KS devices since WASAPI is turned off anyway). So, I may get a message at startup of XXHighEnd (not yours, but I know it's from the same area) but next it is always OK because when (say half of a second) later things are finalized, there appears to be one device only, and that one gets selected. Still that message I receive will hold up (it must be clicked away).

Summarized, things are not 100% decent (are timing related), but if you don't need that other device (headphone in your case) just disabled it. Now you (thus) still may receive a message, but there is no "opportunity" anymore for XXHighEnd selecting the wrong device (there is one only, and that's the one you want).

Regards,
Peter
