Title: version 0.9sb-2 doesn´t start automatically when you select "next"
Post by: leifchristensen on December 04, 2007, 03:59:14 pm
Hello P
Something REALLY annoying:
When pressing next in the sb-2 version,I also have to press play to make next track actually start.
Why not make it start to play next track "on the fly" when clicking "next"
Best
Leif

Hi Leif,

I just checked, but at Attended Playback as well as Unattended Playback it just works ... And I checked all Engines ...
So what exactly do you mean ?

Note that it is by design that when no sound is playing, just nothing happens at Next (not even selecting the next track; I did not see the usefulness in that).

So ? :scratching:

Hello
Must be a local bug then,because while playing a track,if I select next it shifts position,but does not start to play until I select next once more or pushes the play button

Attended, tracks loaded from Library tab
1 "Next" after a "Play" gives visual the next track, but no sound
2 "Next" after a "Next" gives the sound.
3 "Next" gives visual the next track, but no sound
"Prev" function has the same problem.

Unattended, tracks loaded from Library tab
"Next" and "Prev" function doesn't work.

In version 09 pd it was certainly working correct!

Leif, Johan,

Since Johan seems to emphasize on tracks loaded via the Library Area (and Leif in the end tells the same), could you please confirm that this is, or is not related to the problem ?

For instance :

Unattended, tracks loaded from Library tab
"Next" and "Prev" function doesn't work.

I cannot see at all how the Library Area could be related to the problem, since the sequence would be :

1. Load tracks from Library Area;
2. Press Play;
3. XXHighEnd closes itself (Unattended Playback);
4. Bring forward XXHighEnd again;
5. Currently playing track is at the top;
6. Press Next.

There is no way the Library Area is involved here, so how do you think it is related ? (added to that I can't copy the behaviour).
Actually I think my presented 1,2,3,4,5,6 is not what you do ...

Also the explicit question : When you load tracks via the Library button, or drag tracks from Explorer, you don't have this problem ?

Peter

hello

starting with emty playlist
1)I go to library and locate wanted album on the harddisk
2)I mark the wanted area and click open and the tracka are transported to the playlist
3)I mark the first track and click play button and all is well(after 3-5 seconds)
4)I click next and the cursor moves one step down but the playing does not start!
if I either click nxt once more or play the player starts

same problem with "previous": one move to prev track,cursor goes one step up and nothing happens
one additional click on prev or play(indifferent) and the previous track starts

still haven´t tried unattended

and while you´re at it:
please make the player start at the first track automatically,once the playlist is uploaded :)

best
Leif

I did exactly as you said. ... All OK.

Your "click open" obviously is "click Load" I suppose ?

Also, exactly when do you click on the Playlist tab ? (it's not in your list but it should).

How many albums did you select ? And are that albums or tracks ?

Lastly, of course you are sure you run 0.9sb-2 and copied that over 0.9s-0 ?

Sorry to be a pain ... but so far I can't understand.

I have a hunch  ...

You as well as Johan use the DDDac, right ?
I'm not sure, but I recall similar problems a few months ago and I think that was (or those were) DDDac users too.

I think the driver (USB ? it's not in your sig) doesn't communicate all that well with the Dac.
Now, I'm not sure how to relate that to your "keeps on repeating" problem (which is SPDIF and another DAC) but it sure looks as the same problem -> Your DAC keeps on playing while the host (process) has gone ...

When this is Engine#1 or #2, during playback, kill XXHighEnd.exe (Taskmanager).
When this is Engine#3, during playback, kill XXEngine3.exe.

What happens ?

In version 09 pd it is still working correct! I think in all versions where it was implemented it is working correct.

I am using the  TwinDAC USB=>SPDIF interface.

Music stops.

From the Library Area I select one album via double click .
I am running 0.9sb-2 and it was copied over the version before!

Just a thought?  What about calling the Library Area (tab) > Galery Area and keeping Library Button > Library ... in XXHE

Hi Dave,

Could you be a tad more clear please ? :scratching:

Hi Dave,

Could you be a tad more clear please ? :scratching:

Right now you have two things in XXHE that you label Library; the Button on the left side of the player, and the Tab across the top.  Doesn't the Tab have more to do with Gallery functions, while the Button calls up an explorer type window where you pick your wav files.

If that's not clear, don't worry about it.  I was just a bit confused with this thread and peps using the term Library and not knowing whether they referred to the button or the tab.  This is certainly not as important as, say, adding cue file selection using the Gallery hehe opps (pest move).

Hi,

Have the same problem, must press "next" 2 times, but only when Q1 is set to 1 or higher, when set to 0 or lower all works OK.

Thanks for a superb player  :)
