Title: Wireless keyboard
Post by: fralippo on January 03, 2015, 05:19:40 pm
Could this wireless (Bluetooth?) keyboard be used on a dedicated XXhighend pc without SQ related problems?

Thanks!

Hi fralippo,

I am afraid generally not. But it depends somewhat and it is just to try;

First of all reports are known (in this forum) about doing something with a Bluetooth keyboard (or mouse) implies ticks through the speakers.
Next is that when Services are to shut off (see section for that in XXHighEnd Settings) chances are fairly large that Bluetooth won't run anymore, although you could try to activate "Keep PAN Services". But nothing has been made for it ...

Also generally : nothing which is "wireless" as such is good for audio. That is, not when connected directly to the audio PC. And I am afraid that is necessary for a keyboard (and mouse) ...

But you can try what you want of course.
Regards,
Peter

PS: Better would be to use a PS2 connection for keyboard and mouse which can be over 12 meters or so of length. Next use PS2 to USB adapters to connect them to the PC, assumed that the PC has no PS2 connectors (or has only one). One notice again : Using USB (which is what would happen in this case) is not the best for SQ (not about ticks or anything now, but just not good for SQ).

Thank you for your feedback Tore.
Can you tell me :

What device do you use for it ?
Did you need to install a driver for it ?
Do you do anything (like let certain services keep on running) to let it work in MinOS Mode ?

Thanks !
Peter

I have Microsoft wireless keyboard 7000 and mouse 8000.
The USB receiver  only works with USB2.
It is plug and play but i think you have to instal software for full functionality of all features.

I have not done anything special in settings to let it work
