Title: Virtual Machine
Post by: Shreekant Somany on April 30, 2015, 09:25:48 am
Hi,
Some time back I wanted to start this topic but didn't as windows 8 on my comp. had issues. Now I'am upgrading the operating system to Windows 8.1  with Hyper V services.
While I do this I want to install the xxHighend on a virtual environment with hyper v tech. to reduce the cpu speed without tampereing with the comps processing speed, as I understand that music Q is better at a lower cpu speeds.
By doing this I can use the virtual machine for music and use the comp. as a media server for movies at its original cpu speed.
If anyone has experience on this it will be great to know if not then please post your comments and advice.

Hi there Shreekant,

I don't think this is going to work at all ... :nea:

Maybe, very maybe and if you really know where to be (say like I myself) you may get stutterless playback but it would violate ALL what's in XXHighEnd for good SQ to begin with. Really so !

Btw, 3 years or so ago I tried something like that and although I forgot the results for their real merits, I soon gave up.

So, sorry !

Peter

PS: And Windows 8.1 produces "bad" SQ inherently. But that is something else.
