Here's another interesting article. They offer identical copies of DSD and PCM files for comparison. Anyone here able to give the files a listen?

I didn't look into that article because I think I know it;
Take that with some grains of salt because it is apples with oranges comparison. It always is (but more so here for a reason I forgot) and that is the whole issue (and subject of what Joachim posted) : only when the file is "native" (not converted) and only when you play it through a non-converting D/A converter, a comparison has merits. And still not, because the D/A convertes should be the same as well. Quite hard for prerequisites ...

So the same counts for PCM (which most often is recorded by SDM (is actually DSD) means.
