Title: Problem with installing driver 1.04b
Post by: Stanray on May 29, 2015, 08:13:23 pm
Peter,

When installing the V1.0.4b driver the message “Installation failed” shows up with the remark “some files failed to install properly”.

Beforehand in XXHE 2.05 in Settings/Output I changed the “Driver signing” to “Drivers need not be signed” and I rebooted.
When trying to install the new driver the installation program states that V1.04 *is* installed and needs to be uninstalled first.

After that the mentioned errors occur.  :(

Any idea what is wrong?

Stanley

Hi Stanley,

Did you check the status of the "Signing" after the reboot ? You can still do it now of course. Is it still what you set it to ?

That is the logical result of the first attempt. So that failed, but it is still there and the now activate one (not so much really active of course).

Don't spend your whole weekend on this, just let me know about my question above.

Stanley - But you must use the button for Refreshing the data (collecting the state). So the button will show "Refresh" when you didn't use it yet for this XXHighEnd session.
Only click it one time ...

Title: Problem with installing driver 1.04b - Solved

Hmm ... We solved this by NOT installing the Driver in its default location which is Program Files. So apparently this is not allowed now (with the Unsigned Drivers) and it must be somewhere else. So we/I installed it in a folder named \USB\ and now it installs.
Of course :swoon: I always use such a folder myself so I never could notice that my own beautiful default (\Program Files\) does not work ...
