Title: The Liberty of Norton Folgate
Post by: PeterSt on May 31, 2015, 09:52:27 am
This is something I like to rave about. Of course, if you know it, you know it, but I didn't. What a jewel. I said : "such a thing happens to you only once per the two years".

I suppose it is related - and relative to how Maddness ever back was and how they represented Ska of which there could be more than there is (for me). Also, Madness is super special for their sound which is driven by their moving. Look below, who would not guess by looking at the shadow alone that this has to be Madness, right ?

Now listen to this gem;
It is all over 100% Madness, but man, it is so mature. It seems the work out of some invention of 30 years ago which finally came together (in 2009). To me it is not only art, but also fine art and it looks like every individual second of the album has been thought over for a whole day.

I am sure that everyone of "our age" should know this album. But I didn't. And it put a smile on my face for 60 minutes in a row. That's why this post ...

Will have to look this up - One Step Beyond is a favorite of mine, and I also agree about ska (and related beats/musical styles) in general.

I missed this when first posted. This is a great album IMHO and is at least for me the best album that Madness produced.
