Title: XX2.02 W10074 XX says it is Win32NT
Post by: coliny on June 17, 2015, 07:04:00 pm
I remember this problem from a long time ago was caused by not closing XX before shutdown but my last shutdown was via Stop button in XX.

Can't remember how I cured it. I'm in MinOS if I try to go back to full OS it says'not allowed for XP'

Colin, yes ... :heat: ... I recall it too.
This could be a kind of deadlock situation, or maybe not ... Please try this :

Boot into Normal OS and hope all is fine right from the start in there. If not, try whether you can play Unattended with the current "Services Shut Down" settings. Maybe that works. If you then bring up XXHighEnd it can (or should be) fine again (after pressing stop).

If it still is not, there's the OSIsW8.tss (etc. etc.) files (I do this from the top of my head and can't look at the moment). BUT, this has not been made for W10 yet (stupid me, because I thought about it and thought "never mind for now. And you use W10, right ?). Rename the W8 file to *.tst. Now try again. Almost all should be fine.
Boot into MinOS and try whether things are OK-ish in there too. If so, rename the file to *.tss again and see whether it stays OK (and now shows W10 again).

If one of the parts fails on you, just let me know. Don't try too hard (don't waste too much of your time). We'll get there in another way (via email).

Peter

Hi Peter

Thanks for reply, XX would not let me reboot into Normal OS. Eventually I remembered that service winmgmt needed to be restarted in Task Mgr but to do this service Remote Procedure Call also had to be restarted. Then XX recognised OS as W10 and all was fine. I went to Normal OS and back to Min OS just to be sure.

I think what caused problem was probably that I did Alt-X during unattended play but did not stop play before shutting down.

Colin,

Yes, that would be "wong".

I did recalll about the Winmgmt but did not mention it to you because I had in mind that this is not manually restartable. But *you* managed ! Super.

Maybe it is a kind of tough to mimic all this, but I'm thinking of building in such an emergence procedure (so actually the one you applied).

Thank you Colin,
Peter
