Title: W10 updated to latest version after all !
Post by: Robert on July 10, 2015, 07:47:07 am
Hi Peter disaster today!! Win 10 updated to the latest version.
If one goes out off MinOS and XXhighend is not working with Ethernet plugged in, will it still download updates? I did have Stop W10 updates working in XXhighend to stop updates. But XXhighend was not in MinOs  mode.

I've reformatted drive and reloaded fresh W10-10074 but can't get Install.Net 3.5 to install.

Keep getting this error 87.

When I go into Cmd/Admin this is what I get and type in:

C:Windowssystem32>Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:netfx3 /all /source:G:sourcessxs /LimitedAccess

Robert :(

:scratching: uh-ohh :scratching:

Yes, now I think of it ... I set it up slightly wrongly;
When going from MinOS to Normal OS, this is reset, like everything is nicely reset to original state. :smack:

Since I can't provide an upgrade at the moment, two options :

1. Set the 'No Updates' in Normal OS.
Not sure/guaranteed, but this should persist with this 'original state' before going to MinOS and back (later, to that 'original state').

2. When Normal OS is needed, pull the network cable, boot into Normal OS, set the 'No Updates' via XXHighEnd and plug in the cable (but still careful, because this has not been tested really).

Thank you for the report Robert and sorry for your troubles.

Btw, did it work / did you try to play with it ? And what build was that) ?

Regards,
Peter

hi Peter,
The rebuild was 10162. I did try to start XXhighend202 in this new W version but it didn't work. Can't set "no updates" to stop in these rebuild's. I see Microsoft are releasing official W10 on 29th July.

When XXhighend202 is in Max OS it does retain "No updates" and in Min OS. But when returning to Max OS you have to reset XXhighend to stop W10 updates.

In the light of the official release you could wait and see how this sounds with XXhigh before doing anymore changes. I'm keen to try the OS in Ram myself.
