Title: Tidal Login Failed
Post by: Tore on November 22, 2015, 12:11:36 am
Peter,

the login from XXHighEnd is not working. I get this message: Failed

I have tested with two different Tidal accounts, in MinOS and NormalOS.

In Tidal Settings-Streaming  i choose Flac + Phasure NOS1

Hi Tore,

Is XXHighEnd Activated ?
If so, is it possible to post a screen shot of that message ?

Thanks,
Peter

Maybe you are attempting this from Windows 10 ?

Yes, from W10

That probably won't work because you did not setup the normal HTTP scheme stuff. But I don't know myself !

Please keep in mind the general idea : General Set Up (http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=3389.0).

You can still post that screen shot and answer the question about XXHighEnd activation. Ok ?

Peter

XXHighEnd 2.03 is activated

First message box :   Tidal -  Failed

Next message box:   Initialize Tidal - Tidal could not be Initialized (failed on creating Tidal Login Data)

Tore, I looked back in our emails, and it looks like you never finished that http stuff. Look here again :

Windows 10 Tutorials - Make Internet Explorer available (http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=3240.0).
So if you don't do that then you just can't have an Internet connection, and this is necessary ...
And it is NOT the idea at all (see previous post). I could also say : if someone likes to have a SQ deteriorating Internet Connection it is a bit up to him how to achieve that. I mean : next up is your complaint that SQ is not good. And I really am not going to do anything about that. So it must go different ... follow the "rules" so to speak, or find better other means yourself.

Btw, I am still not sure this http stuff is your problem because the first error message tells me nothing. This is why I'm asking a screen shot of it.

Otherwise we will solve it anyway !

Make Internet Explorer Available : when I follow that guide I get this message when I push "Set associations" : To change your default apps, go to settings>system>default apps  (see screenshot)
Internet is up but I have to do this steps after every reboot.

Internet is OK but I get this messages when I try to logon to Tidal from XX 2.03 (see screenshots)

Thank you for your efforts Tore.

Time to hop over to email and more in-depth stuff. :)

Solved, and it was my bad; A small file lacked from the Install.

When others are going to use Tidal :
Please see at the bottom in the Download for XXHighEnd 2.03 (http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=3374.0);
There is an XXHighEnd-203a-Addendum.rar to additionally download/unzip to your XX folder. That solves this problem.

Peter

Hi Peter,

Got the same problem as Tore had, same messages.
(2.03a with the addendum file, and on 2.04)

Using win 7 ultimate.

Edit: red "xxhighend" text changes to grey during login attempt,

Hi Kjell Narve,

I think you were not XXHighEnd activated, as you only obtained a Code for it 2 hours after your message ? Am I right ?

Regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,

I am activated, at least everything indicates that.. Received code yesterday. (Followed the procedure for activation etc)
But by some reason text goes from red to gray during the login progress, not sure if that indicates anything..

Error message pops up instantly when pressing logon button,

Forgot to respond to the Title Bar "issue" :
No, that is normal. That happens when the window is not the active window.

I don't know what your issue can be. So a very silly question : Do you know your Tidal email and Password correctly ?
You can easily forget it, if it has been some longer ago when you obtained it for the first time. I mean, you never have to enter it anywhere ...
And if you think it is OK, how do you confirm (test) that ?

Peter

Title: Re: Tidal Login Failed
Post by: KnB on December 29, 2015, 11:01:47 am
Yes, password and login details was the first thing I checked, all OK.
But the message pops up without delay at all, I assume with wrong logon details it takes a few millisecond to verify.

Ok. How important must I judge your reference to "the same messages as Tore" ? I mean, can't it be so that you have something not right yet with the Internet communication ?
And I am not sure whether being able to get an Activation Code (which you apparently did over the same PC ??) prooves all.

So what is your "feeling" about the Internet connection itself ?

Title: Re: Tidal Login Failed
Post by: KnB on December 29, 2015, 11:52:23 am
I do not know what to look for.. Message I have is 100% same as Tore had... OK was hoping there was something to look for.
Will re install OS as it is an older computer not used in a few years.
Internet connection is working on everything else, can't see anything wrong.

Did try to install 2.04 on my new main server, but got some issue with that as well... Now New attempt with a different PC but still some issue..
I am sure it's me, I very close to give up streaming.

No, come on !! don't reinstall !

You guys always think that new installs help. And I never know why it would.

FYI and fun : I never ever (ever !) reinstalled any OS.
I know, not completely fair, but it tells that you shouldn't either and rather learn what the problem is.

Tell me quickly, can you stop yourself from reinstalling ?

I know, re install is not the way. Not done yet, just installing w7 upgrades

Ah, good.
I am a bit busy at this moment, but watch your email (soon).

Title: Re: Tidal Login Failed
Post by: PeterSt on December 30, 2015, 12:32:14 pm
Solved.

It only now appeared that a part of the Login procedure for Tidal was made for 64 bits only, and the 32 bits OS rejected the Login.

This is now solved in 2.04c, which is at the bottom of the 2.04 download topic.

For Kjell Narve :
You have 2.04d but this only contains additional logging, compared to 2.04c.

Peter

Hi there Tore !

But do you mean : while normally Internet connected ?

I don't have a problem here - same version. But not via Windows 10. It shouldn't matter, but at least the internet connection is normal (no MinOS and such).

Tore, I understand.
What I don't understand is how you should have Internet connection on the Audio PC. And I think you don't (or ?) ...

Put in another way : why would you even like to use Tidal from the Audio PC ?
It should (in my view of course) be on the Music Server PC and the Audio PC uses it from there.

I feel that or you don't understand me, or I don't understand you.

Tore,

The same as how you used it previously ?
Prepare it on the Music Server PC and load it on the Audio PC. The versy same as you do with all your music ...

Peter

Well, uhm ... I don't hope you are asking me how to install XXHighEnd ?

There must be some huge misunderstanding; You have had all running, including Tidal, and now you don't know how to do it ? then I don't know what to tell or explain !

Anyway ... just do as if that Music Server is your Audio PC. Set it all up as if it were. But leave out the DAC connection and the real playback.
That is all !

Notice that I feel something more is wrong, because I did not see you obtaining a new code for XXHighEnd. So or you had that already (for that Music Server PC, but which seems unlikely) or you forgot it and ... well, I really can't tell.
Maybe you tried to copy the XXHighEnd install from your Audio PC to your Music Server PC. Well, that most certainly will not work. Install it right from the start as usual, that works.

If you don't know what to do, then at least tell me what you did and how that Music Server PC was created. Ok ?

Peter

I was using Tidal before RAM-OS, this is the first time I`m trying with RAM-OS

Music PC is in another room, W10, Build 10240

XX 2.04 is installed, activated with my old code (i got the message "Done")

Maybe your password is wrong. I recall that happened before ... ;)

Impossible that it is activated. And when not, that is at least a reason to not being able to login to the Tidal service. But notice that you initially don't complain about that Music Server PC.
Additionally, if that PC is coincidentally 32 bits (OS) then it requires 2.04c.

Notice that you wrote this too, yesterday :

Quote
Music PC:  W10, no problem to login to Tidal with XX 2.04

But today you write this :

Quote
when i do that i get error messages:

1.Error opening SettingPreset file
2.Something wrong at initializing Sound Device

So our communication is a total drag today. :)

Do this, and don't do anything else or else I again won't understand :

1. Go to you other room with the Music Server PC;
2. Prepare an album from Tidal on that PC.
3. Tell me what happened.

(next steps will follow after your response)

Peter

Nothing happens when i search for a artist in Tidal

It looks like XX is not activated.

When i try to use PayPal i get this mesage:  couldn't find any proof of you using any of the playback features on this PC.

Good. ;)

We will get there now ! just step by step (if that's OK with you). Now :

That motherboard will have an audio device too. Select it (if not already) and try whether it works with 2x upsampling and a random album. Don't forget to switch off "Is NOS1". No need to get real sound from it, as long as the time cursor starts running. Just Attended (well, like how you do it always).

If you keep on receiving error messages it will be about your MoBo supporting 48KHz "base" only. You may then want to switch on "96 Khz or192 KHz Only" (in DAC Settings).
Or find a 24/96 album (and maybe not upsample now).

Play a bit as usual.
Go to PayPal, as usual.

Windows 10 Tutorials - Make Internet Explorer available (http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=3240.0) ...

Remember ?
You spend a nice larger topic on this. No need to find it I guess because you will know now.

Btw, by now that Tutorial has changed for 10586.0 but possibly for 10240 counts the same - I just don't know. Try it.

OK Peter, now XX is activated and i can search in Tidal

Title: Re: Tidal Login Failed
Post by: PeterSt on February 27, 2016, 01:33:59 pm
Very well done.

Now you "Prepare" that album from Tidal and of course you will know where you put it. Thus now the last step :

On the Audio PC find it, like you do with your normal Albums.
And then press Play ...

Title: Re: Tidal Login Failed
Post by: PeterSt on February 27, 2016, 02:24:35 pm
Tore,

What you forgot in that case, is remote control the Music Server PC which in itself remote controls the Audio PC.

Tablet -> Music Server PC -> Audio PC.

To keep in mind : what you were heading for is making the Audio PC completely lean. I mean, this is why you set up the Music Server PC in the first place and the reason you are using the RAM-OS (don't forget to remove the disk after booting).

Of course I am not telling (ordering) you to do it like this but this is the way we talk about it all the time. But possibly this is also how the confusion started yesterday, because your way seems to be to do it (Tidal) directly from the Audio PC, which of course is possible (once you can login there :)) but which then requires Internet Connection, the firewall stuff, maybe anti-virus and what not. This is all against good sound.

Notice that if the tablet is too inconvenient at times (and I can imagine that) then you can perhaps use a laptop (with WiFi) to the Music Server PC. Or, run cables for monitor and mouse and keyboard from the PC from the 2nd floor to your listening room (they can all be 15 meters long and it will still work).

Summarized :
For example I myself never have a keyboard and mouse and monitor attached to the Audio PC. So that is the base. I think your base is a bit upside down from that.
Another thing could be that the idea that the Music Server PC can be way out of sight, is only about that but not about its Monitor and such. You *use* that PC quite explicitly, for Tidal. I do the same. And my case : the Music Server PC indeed is on another floor and I indeed use those 15 meter long cables to it. As a matter of fact, right now I am typing at that one. And when music starts later today, I bring the task forward with the remote connection (see scheenshot below) and next I go to the tablet which controls this very PC I am typing at, thus controlling the same screen but which now shows the Audio PC.

Regards,
Peter

The disk is removed from my Audio PC.

But i still use a monitor and bluetooth keyboard/mouse

I have tried many times to get  remote control working but gave up.

I will try again another day

Ok. Then that other day open a topic for it;
We will work it out together, step by step and after that I will make a tutorial of it.
Why not right away ? because in my view all is fairly straight forward and besides that in tutorials already. So I must first learn where you get stuck. Ok ?
And it is allowed to be stuck right from the very first step. No problem !
