Title: W10 Internet settings / Associations get lost ?
Post by: PeterSt on November 22, 2015, 05:04:04 pm
Maybe someone can help me out on this one :

Make Internet Explorer Available : when I follow that guide I get this message when I push "Set associations" : To change your default apps, go to settings>system>default apps  (see screenshot)
Internet is up but I have to do this steps after every reboot.

This is from this Tutorial : Windows 10 Tutorials - Make Internet Explorer available (http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=3240.0), and I don't recognize the problem, or what exactly the problem is.

I also can't really test it, because I have no W10 PC connected to the Internet in the first place. That guide I managed to write though, and people are able to cope with it. Not so with Tore and especially the part "it has to be done after each reboot" looks odd.
Also I don't recognize that "to change your default apps ..." part - as if it there gets stuck and won't save what you just applied. Possibly this wasn't so in 10074 (which I used to write the Tutorial) and does it happen now with the 10565 Tore uses.

Anyone, please ?

Peter

Hi Peter,

I just installed 10586.0 and tried to follow instructions on iExplorer. It is so that W10 won't let you "Set Associations"
in iExplore but forces you to use "Settings > System > Default Apps" and only there change internet settings to iExplorer.

... which is impossible once XXHighEnd changed the UAC setting (which is at first startup) ...

So where does it fail with you, George ?
(if no-where we must assume that you did not start XXHighEnd yet ?)

Thanks,
Peter

The change was attempted before installing XXHE - that is correct. However, right now 2.03 is playing and still there is a message
"To change your settings go to Settings>System>Default apps" when clicking on "Set Assoc" in iExplore.
I did set association to iExplore and system shows default app for Web: iExplore.

Peter,

George is correct, I had the same thing.
Doesn't really matter though, just change in settings and all is fine.

Just to make it clear, this is after installing XXHighEnd, but before MinOs. Obviously you need to change the settings to IE to be able activate and then get to MinOs.

Best regards,
Diede

Thank you guys. But maybe I don't understand and most certainly I did not sufficiently make clear that in this situation the Internet is required to be there, thus also in MinOS etc.
This is because of Tidal and using that on the Audio PC.

Can that still work with what you both describe ?

Peter

Clicking on PayPal normally brings iExplorer - no problem here.
And I will take care of M$ "Edge" personally...
