Title: After playing from RAM - where will we boot into ?
Post by: Gerard on January 22, 2016, 10:19:56 am
Peter,

I am playing from RAM at the moment. All works and sound  :good:

But what should be done when i like to shut down the pc. Do i have to boot first back to BASE?
Or can i just shut down and the BASE comes back automaticly at the next boot.

 :)

Gerard,

Assumed you removed the HDD :

a. Put the HDD back in;
b. RightClick the Stop button and choose "Shut DOwn".

Now (you will see that) the Settings are saved to the HDD (in the proper OS, but you can't see that right away).

Please disregard my previous answer as it was wrong and actually offtopic (I did not read the question well enough). Notice that contentual the response really is wrong as well.

New answer :

Once you booted from RAM and used XXHighEnd via the Boot Menu to do so, you can shut down the system per the means you want (but best is to use XXHighEnd's means - which is about the Saving of Settings and a Tutorial to write for that (!!)).

At the next Boot, of course the RAM-OS disk assument to be in the system, booting will be into the same OS you booted into the previous time. Remember : When XXHighEnd's Boot Menu was used any previous time to set the OS to Boot into.

Ah great! I just tried right now.

After i shut the pc down and restart the thing it goes back to RAM. I thought it would go to the BASE version and than we had to strart the RAM version again.

This is Fun!!
