Title: Tidal classical search
Post by: acg on February 15, 2016, 02:25:26 am
Hi Peter,

On my Music Server I have XXHE 2.04c running, and the Tidal searches seem to work well with popular music but the classical searches are not working.

For example, if I type "Anton Bruckner" or "Edward Elgar" or "Gustav Mahler" into the search I end up with an error message "Error (1) in forming Tidal Path...Check Naming Scheme in Settings (Data Location section).  Also see the Search Root field at the bottom which can be 'wrong'".  Those searches work just fine in Tidal itself.

Both of the locations in the error message seem correct, and if I then type in a search for non-classical music everything works just fine.

Of course, I am typing in composers, not artists, so perhaps the problem lies there...and with the Naming Scheme.

Cheers,

Anthony

Hi Anthony,

They all work here (a total of 80 or so results). I recall this problem (not really Classical related I'd say) and it was dealt with on the forum.
But I use 2.05 ...

But if you don't mind ... what a pothetic mess comes from this. I can't imagine that this is usable. And a bit 99% Japan Philharmonic oriented.

Thanks Peter.  I will try XXHE 2.05.

Hi Peter,

Where can I download 2.05?  As far as I can see only 2.04 is in the download area.

Cheers,

Anthony

Hi Anthony,

2.05 is not for the public. It is on your RAM-OS disk though ...

What you can do is zip the XX folder (only that is fine, but include its sub folders) from any of the OSes (take the one you have been using), and move that to your other PC like a normal "install". It will require activation as usual.
BUT to mimic the normal install, start XXHighEnd in that other PC and go to settings and the Save As button, close to the top. RIGHTclick that to reset all.
If you don't do that, the install will not be normal and we will be spending a dozen of posts to make it normal. I myself can't do it either (I try some times :)).

Regards,
Peter

Thanks Peter,  I'll give that a try.

Hi Peter,

That all worked just fine.  2.05 definitely gets results with classical composers where 2.04 did not.

Thank-you for your help.

Cheers,

Anthony
