Title: Reinstalling An OS on the RAM-OS
Post by: boleary on October 04, 2016, 04:24:11 pm
Given the numerous issues I'm having with RDC, and having improperly switched services settings in unattended, I'm wondering what the procedure is for activating the "copy" version of MyW10-10586. After reading the Back Up/Restore Tutorial I assume that I must first boot into  W10-10565 TRIAL. Once this is done, do I then just delete 10586 BASE and paste the copy version  into Drive C, but remove "- Copy" from the name? I have of course saved copies of all OS's on a zip drive.

Brian,

Yes, that would be the procedure.

Not to be confusing ... but you can boot into any of the other OSes (not the 10586.0 because you're going to mangle with that one) and do the same, with the knowledge that you'll find all on Drive D: (not C:).

N.b.: Copying from your zip drive to the PC's drive will go much faster, I think.

Regards,
Peter

Reinstall was worth it: all has been working for the last couple of hours,  though I haven't finished testing. Thanks Peter!
