Title: Tidal Login Failed
Post by: acg on November 18, 2016, 05:35:24 am
Hi Peter,

The new MusicServer (XXHE2.06b - W10-14393 - Normal OS) is not letting me log in to Tidal.  I am not sure why but I have read the other login threads and the Tutorial and am not having any luck to rectify the situation.  I've never logged onto Tidal with this computer before.

As soon as I try for a search I am prompted for my Tidal login details, which I enter (and I have checked that they are correct in Tidal itself) and them immediately I get a dialogue box saying that Tidal Login has Failed, just as Tore did in his thread with the same title.

I have set the IE defaults and even checked that I have access to the internet at this computer, and I do.

Do you have any suggestions?

Regards,

Anthony

Anthony,

Be 100% positive that you are XXHighEnd-activated with that machine.

Peter

The title bar is red, but of course no playback of any kind is available from the PC.  Are you saying that I should plug in the dac and try to play some tunes to see if it is activated?

You can use the MoBo's sound device, often at 24/88200 ?
But correct, without ever playing you can not even be activated, right ? So it is a necessity, only for Activation (and when done it's done).

The red title bar doesn't say a thing without playing. So you will soon see it turn blue ...
:swoon:

Peter

Hi Peter,

I just did the play and shutdown thing several times and it seems it was activated.  To prove it to myself I clicked the MinOS button which was successful.  I am a bit stupid though, because I went into MinOS the computer disappeared from the network (network discovery services turned off I assume) and I had to pull the lid off the MusicServer to reinstall the video card and plug in the keyboard and mouse again so I could get it back out of MinOS.

Anyway, that is done, I am back in NormalOS but Tidal Login still does not work.

Anthony

Hi Anthony,

Then two things remain for the cause :

1. You only think you know the password but in the end do not. ;) Btw, don't tell, but this was Tore's problem too. And notice that you never need to re-login to Tidal (also not with their own player) so by now you might have forgotten. Solution : create a new password for Tidal (I suppose this is possible).

2. You work with the too old XXHighEnd version which does not support the 32 bits version yet, plus your OS is 32 bits. Not likely.

More causes I don't know at this moment. So go for #1 ?
Let me know whether that helped (but please explicitly try) because when not we surely have to look further.

Best regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,

I have previously checked the password by logging out of Tidal and then logging back in.  Also I used a different browser that did not have the Tidal passwords stored and logged in successfully using the same password.  As a further check I just changed the Tidal password (in Tidal) and it still does not work in XXHE.

OS is 64 bits for sure.  XXHE is 2.06b.

The two dialogue boxes I get after I try the password are:

"Tidal Login"  "Failed" OK

"Initialize Tidal"  "Tidal could not be initialized (failed on creating Tidal Login Data)"

I think I will next try updating 2.06b to that other version you sent me to fix the 40 cores problem.  This should be ok to do?

Regards,

Anthony

Hey Anthony,

I don't think that is going to help.

Thank you for your efforts. But now what eh ...

...

In your XX Folder there's a TidalSession.dat file. Well, maybe because I don't know at this moment wheter it is there when login does not succeed. Anyway, throw that out when there, switch on Logging, restart XXHighEnd and try again. With the error message (Login Failed) on screen, grab the XX file from that (watch the date/time) and send it to me. Only that file and not "several" to be sure (because then I don't know where to look).
Maybe that helps us ...

Best regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,

I have had a chance now to further look at this Tidal login problem.  Please see the attached LOG file.

Note that I have first upgraded to XXHE 2.07 but the problem persists.

Anthony

Anthony,

It seems that Tidal is now returning something strange to you. I sent you an email with another XXHighEnd version with more logging, so I can see better what is ging on.

Peter

Not quite the same problem, but the Tidal log-in window has never shown up for me :(. I use the OS-disk from Peter, but after booting up all the different OSs, still I've seen no Tidal login.

Is it possible to enter the password in one of the XX-files, or do I need to reinstall XX? I recently used the 2.07-upgrade patch with great success, but no Tidal in sight...

Hi Stein,

Did you actually apply a Search on Tidal ? Thus, make the Search button show "Srch TT" (see below), click on it and enter some search data in the screen appearing (this is latter is mandatory for an actual Tidal access).

Peter

Peter,
No :blush1:, from the tutorial, I’ve all the time believed entering the Tidel password was a part of the XX-install-procedure...
Meaning, I have not tested the Tidal-search-function, so I know what to do, today!
Thanks!

Hi Gerard,

I really have no idea at this moment. This is a system message (XXHighEnd's messages are never in Dutch).

Do you have a TidalSession.dat file in your XX folder ? (don't post it)

Regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,

No TidalSession.dat anywhere to be found.
A lot of Tidal subdirectories have been created.
I suppose the file can not be created?

Regards Gerard.

PS. I don't want to bother you on your free saturday evening so take your time ;)
