Title: UAC Install Problems
Post by: Scroobius on January 09, 2017, 04:56:28 pm
Hi Peter,

I am trying to install 2.07 on my laptop under W10. The message "After this a Reboot is required to put through changed User Account Control Setting ........ Reboot?" comes up correctly and I click "Yes". The laptop reboots but the UAC settings are not changed and each time I click the XX icon I get the same message again. I have manually changed the UAC settings down to the lowest but still XX will not commence past the above message.

Note this is a dual boot laptop with XX installed on the default partition.

Cheers

Paul

Paul,

Did you notice the RunThisFirst.rar for download ? And I mean not now, but prior to dpwnloading 2.07 ?

Apart from your (hopefully soon) answer, don't do anything with it yet. But if you already did, tell me and then also tell me in what sequence you applied what for those files to download.
I hope this is not confusing ...

Peter

AArrgghh   no I missed that. I did a quick os restore and started again running RunThisFirst first. All seems OK so far.

Note to self - "read the instructions first next time".

Cheers
