Natalie Merchant is new to me (thank you Zheng) , what a great artist.
She has  three album on Tidal  in MQA, the SQ is top with XX 2.10 and my new Stealth PC  :-)

With being from a town 30 miles from her hometown, I’ve been listening to Natalie Merchant from her first 10,000 Maniacs Days! She has always been one of my favorites! And is always in my play list when I’ve made any change to my system. I am just so familiar with her voice, that it makes subtle changes easy to discern.
If you haven’t checked her out on Cowboy Junkies “Trinity Revisted” you should ;)
Happy listening, especially on XX 2.10!

Wow I will check out Cowboy Junkies too! Thanks.

Regarding audio playback quality of NM recordings in general, I always thought her particular voice seems to have a subtle hard glossy edge to it from time to time. With a lesser quality playback, her voice can get relentless. When her singing is fully resolved in playback (like MQA decoded properly), it just shines. It is especially so, when an incredible variety of instrumentations intertwine with the vocal.
