Title: problem with libraray
Post by: hols on June 27, 2018, 06:29:37 pm
I need some help here. I use a windows10 computer to store my music files and it is connected to my Stealth II xxhiend computer by ethernet. I recently changed my hard disc(now containing 3.4Tb) in my windows 10 computer. I have changed the drive number back to the previous hard disc namely drive D. But then I had a problem of cannot get any music to play again. The library structure is there, coverart is there but just no music when I press play.  Any idea where did I go wrong? Thanks.

Hi Leung,

Drive D: is not allowed to be used in a RAM-OS System. Same counts for X:. So that has to be the issue ... (or anyway by guarantee it *is* an issue in general).

Let me know whether this helps,
kind regards,
Peter

PS: You realize that you need to format the 3.4TB in a special way, right ? If you omit that, all beyond 2TB (written) is rubbish / not accessible.

Hi Peter,

I am using drive G in xxhiend as before(my music files computer drive D contains the music files and it is mounted in xxhiend drive G). It is the same as what you set up for me before. I just changed my hard drive to another one in my music files computer. It is originally named drive G in music file computer so nothing show up in xxhiend because the drive G in xxhiend should be equal to drive D of my music file computer not drive G. So I changed the drive name of my music files hard disc to drive D in music files computer then the files and coverart showed up in xxhiend but no music come out. I suspect some of the files now has a different path so there is confusion.

How can I delete the previous library paths so as to avoid confusion?

Or can I start from scratch to create the music files site in xxhiend again?

The hard drive has been used in other computers and working OK so it is not the 2T limit problem. My previous hard disc is also 8Tb hard disc.

Hi Leung,

OK, so I misunderstood.

Quick question : Are you using Galleries ? If yes, the confusion can very easily be in that area.

And I think you should receive some kind of (error) message at the attempt of Playback ?

Leung, maybe it is better that I dive in with TeamViewer. So let's not hesitate to go that route.

Hi Peter,

Just read your message. Sure using teamviewer would be great. Is this a convenient time for you now?
