Title: Wishlist (again) in future versions - when time permits
Post by: LydMekk on March 10, 2008, 04:07:56 am
As there's more and more talk of room-correction, active speakers etc. etc. on the web these days, could it be interesting implementing a digital EQ in XX for correcting the frequency curve in the player? Not with any measurement input, but just a digital EQ with On/Off possibility in addition to 8-12 bands?

Any hope?  :)

The dreaded fubar/foobar (!) has this as I remember...

Oh, I think you can be sure it will be in there, some time. Permit me to have a couple of PEQs instead of normal EQs. Say, an infinite number per channel, until the CPU is choked.
Of course I just learned myself that cpu useage with 176400 is still virtually zero, what I maybe not expected. This tells me that indeed all the overhead is in the drivers, and I can kind of do what I want. It would be "sport" anyway, since my fun around computers has always been, say, tuning.

Btw, once the PEQs are there, it's no big deal to present them as high-pass and/or low-pass, hence crossovers. The remainder is assigning the lot to the appropriate channels.
I must say that I'm kind of surprised that some people already have 8 channel amps running, which only is encouraging to get this going.

When time permits.

Since this is a already a wishlist let me please make this advice:

maybe (almost certainly) it's a gimmick, but could it be possible to show the XX symbol as Wallpaper, if there is no Coverart in one folder?

That shouldn't be that difficult. :)

Just to remind you to make a folder functionality for easier playlist management. Eventually you make the structure and then the user can add subfolders himself when organizing his number of playlists.

Uhhm ... :scratching: Remind me of Playlists with sub folders ? You must be confused with something else.
Or you drank a too expensive cognac maybe ?.:friends:

Pedal,

Since you didn't respond anymore, I guess I need some ...

My response may have looked like some joke, but I really don't know what you mean. Of course, I can imagine something with a(n appointable, like I agreed upon earlier) folder for playlists and then sub folders in there, but the latter would be something which was never discussed before afaik (so that one about "reminding" :)).
The setup needed for that would be way different from the current one, and personally I don't think it is worth it (??). Why ?

Because I don't see the difference with setting up similar by means of Galeries (see Library Area). And you can have as many sub folders as you like in there.
Note : Selected tracks in the Playlist Area + Rightclick allows saving to a Galery with the tracks in the Playlist Area as a base).

One thing : The latter (I think) currently saves the name/path a kind of wrongish (although it will work at playback), but *that* can be solved.

??

... which I just did (for the next version).
