Title: Tidal Login failed
Post by: PeterSt on April 01, 2023, 11:29:06 pm
Dear people,

Since somewhere this week, Tidal Login failed (preceded by Unauthorized messages - possibly no message at all but just nothing working). This is "software player" (like XXHighEnd) related.

I am waiting for a response from Tidal support. I will post back here when there is news.

Best regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,

Still no news? Is there a chance that things have changed at Tidal and we cannot go back to the way things were?

 MQA in Administration (http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=4461.msg0#new)

That could be related (please continue over there about that subject).

Day before yesterday I sent a reminder - but no response at all, so far. Next week I will try another address or call.

Is there anyone who can still normally login ? I mean, I can't login with my phone as well. Something "Login Session timed out".

Regards,
Peter

I can still login to Tidal on my android phone & on my W10 PC.

Copying an album link from Tidal to XXHE for preparing (as I usually do it) returns nothing.

In the end the login issue - tested by phone - was caused by the phone being behind a VPN.

So far 5 back and forth emails have exchanged with Tidal support, but I am not able yet to make clear what a Tidal Partner (like Phasure) is.
So, still working on it ...

Just set up the music server machine with XXHE for tidal preparation.  Activated XXHE.  Tidal login returns a "Fail" alert box.  Like everyone, I'm hoping this can be resolved.  Preparing Tidal files was a huge, huge feature.

Yes, but I am afraid I have to announce that this has come to an end.
I hate it myself ...

Two days ago I stopped with fighting Tidal Support which doesn't seem to say more than that Tidal stopped to support the "feature". This is 10 or so  email exchanges further.

What I can make of it, is that software players are not supported any more. Maybe, when time permits, I can tweak it, but time does not permit me much lately. But I want it for myself, so that should help. :-)

Best regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,

This is unfortunate but thanks for the update.  I think I'll put my Tidal subscription on hold for now.

Thanks for all the hard work you put into this feature. It really was wonderful (even more so now in retrospect).

Hi Peter,

Let's hope you can sort this out for us.

If Tidal is so difficult why not try Qobuz?

All the music i play is new music which I find on Tidal.
If this function disappears from XXHighEnd i have to find another software player

Hi Peter

I tried:- https://www.noteburner.com/tidal-music-converter-windows.html

Bit flaky but did manage to download a track from Hiromi/Blue Giant which was less than the 3 min track limit for the trial version.

It was 24/48 as expected but the MQATagRestorer did not recognize it as MQA.

Actually it looks like it has already done the MQA decoding.
Analysis of the track shows data is missing above 17KHz, I have reported this to Noteburner.

The generated log files shows that Noteburner is controlling the Tidal desktop app and looks to be playing the track to download it.

It is actually ridiculous that they can do such a thing (not even announced - just pulled the plug). They have no idea how much work went in there.
And you don't know how the new (ever ?) due XXHighEnd 3.x was supposed to present an all new means of Search (finding all the related artists, which is ... ehh ... was a great feature).

Colin,
Less flaky means exist but I am not sure how to go about with that on a public forum. Anyway, I am looking into integrating that means by some sort of backdoor means.
I will work on this when time permits.

Thank you for your concerns, guys !
Peter

Hi Peter,

I am back here again after doing other stuff like building a new house, getting married, …
I was not happy with the sound in my new music room, but I fixed it now and enjoying again listening with my Phasure system.

Today I tried to login into Tidal, but the login failed. Could this Tidal issue be fixed?
Do I maybe need a updrade of XXHE to be able to login into Tidal?
Anyway I would like to install a new XXHE version on my new laptop especially for downloading from Tidal.

Kind regards
Richard

Hey Richard !
If you got married ... then I hope you didn't need to sell your boat. ;-)

There is a (slow) work in progress regarding Tidal. But as how it is now, it is not really possible to integrate it with XXHighEnd. But see the post from Rudolf above; that brings something at least.

Kind regards,
Peter

Hello Tore,

Great thanks for that. But looking at the past communication with Tidal (which was ever so strange) it looked like they are on to me/us and just forbid me to develop anything with Tidal. For example, I asked what to do, how I can proceed / start all over, and it just was not possible.

So it seems a waste of time.

Also, I was on the good track (on) myself again, but the last thing I did was last December. That looked promising and I can use it myself, sort of.
It seems beating around the bush, but you have no idea how much time I wasted on this. Thus, whatever solution, it should be future proof.

Best regards for now,
Peter
