Title: improved Q adjustment features
Post by: leifchristensen on January 26, 2009, 02:39:58 pm
Hello P
just one practicality:
would it be possible to get red of the muting feature when one is adjusting the different q slides?
it would be much more useful if one didnt loose the sound during the adjustment and could sort of tune in on the preferred values
best
Leif

Yes, in this particular case it would. Actually you got ahead of me, because I already intended to implement that.
Note that this can only work for this, and not for any of the other settings (e.g. volume).

If no other things with priority come up, it will be in the next upgrade.
Thanks,
Peter

ps a norwegian web service called filemail.com (nothing to do with my person)allows people to send big files via mail
eg wav files from me to you with demo cuts
have a look and see what you think

Personally I don't have problems with sending or receiving large files, because it is just a setting in a.o. the email server which is under my own control. For others it may be a solution, which is smart at the same time (just downloads).

But : the main problem for me (and for many I guess) is the upload time. So, download is okay, but upload (equal to sending emails) is of lousy speed.

I must think of the use case yet, but what about forwarding the received email to others ? would that work ? (I guess so, but not necessarily).

I´m sending you a file  in wav of Scott Hamilton
you´ll receive a mail from filemail.com when it´s ready....listen to the recording...very good reference
a company in norway have launched a vdsl2 service which gives upload at 20mbit and download at 40mbit...that should solve it
coming to the cities first...max dist. to central is 800meters
will probably be improved soon

Yep, it worked.
Don't start to send around complete files no matter this allows 2GB (more than my max settings :)); it's pretty much not allowed.

Not yet. Listening time is always after bug solving, and during a beer or two. To start with. :secret:

Yep, very good. A typicle example of what I mean with "hearing the feedback of cymbals".
I continued with an album I have "At last" (Gene Harris and Scott Hamilton Quintet). Same nature. As good. But then each album where Ray Brown comes along the recording is good. Like Paul Newman plays (played) in good movies only. IMO.

Btw, towards the end of your cut is this little drum solo. I can imagine that you can't hear the three different chine cymbals played there (or one is maybe played differently). IOW the Buffalo may not show that. The veils of the toms sound very good anyway, and you will be hearing that the same I guess.

Thanks,
Peter
