Title: Errors X1
Post by: Gerard on February 04, 2009, 09:39:21 am
Hey Peter,

I am sorry but i receive al lot of errors with x1.

1: First is the sliderbar. The slider moves forward at the end but i cannot see it anymore. looks like the screen has to expand but thats not possible here.

2: When i like to stop xx and press stop and than off the error below shows up. (x1.1)

3: When i like to press clear i have to press stop first. That was not how it was before. When i like to press clear during playback than this error apears. (x1.2)

4: When i like to load in a mp3 than this error apears with every track. When i load in by explorer than no problem. (x1.3)

5: During playback and going to the next track sometimes this error apears but music keeps on playing. (x1.4)

6: Sometimes music just stops playing.

Oh ja all is attended and i have not installed the hotkey program yet.

And there are some more wich i will ad later...

Sorry  :(

Grtz Gerard....

Wow ...

For now about your #2 ... Can it be that only now you ticked "Copy to XX-Drive by standard" (similar) for the first time ? As you can see this is some rights problem ...

And about #1, can you tell me the sequence of dragging stuff when this starts to happen ?

The other things I should be able to copy myself.

Peter

You have questions about 2: and 1: ?? See above... I understand your first question #2 but not #1.

About #1 :

The screen you showed does not have the default size (of the panes) right after the first startup. So, you dragged it to that size, but since you must have dragged the panes wider as well, I just want to now the sequence of your dragging things, and exactly when the slider starts to be outside the boundaries of the form. With me this doesn't happen ... not by itself ...

Peter,

9b is ok only x1 seems to have this... It's about the last +- 8 sec of a track... Tried to get it bigger but can't.

If you drag the right side to the LEFT (so, make it smaller) doesn't the slider reset to such a size that it fits again ?

Gerard, please help me.

Unzip the latest XX to again a new folder, ans start XX. Answer No to "restore settings". Don't touch anything for dragging borders or anything. Don't even move the form. Now :

Is it wrong already with that slider ? please send a screencopy of that.

Is it okay ? please start dragging things, possibly as you did before (if you can remember), write down what you do, and watch closely for the slider getting wrong. When that happens, let me know what you did !
... Chances are high (I hope) that you will not be able to reproduce it.

If all stays right, next try to let the message "Engine 3 did not start ..." appear again. Probably it is unrelated to the slider thing, but maybe it just is related.

I don't get this ... (both things) ...

Peter,

I downloaded x1 and did the same i alway's do and what you asked for. No need to activate. As you see the screen is not correct.

I will try to provoce the engine 3 did not start....

Also Gerard, make sure that your install is correct. I man, don't know how many albums I must run to make that "Engine 3 did not start ..." happen, but I give up on it. Besides that, too much time was spend on it, and I concider that solved. IOW, make sure you don't run with an old XXEngine3 version !
And check your rights. Your #2 error sure indicates something is wrong there.

Peter,

I have done what you asked. But that was not the trick.  :(

I deleted the config of today 5 feb. there was only 1.

 :)

EDIT: Have given it another try. But Nope....

Also a strange thing lately is that showing the albums for the first time in xx after start up and put in the root in the settings tab is that the album area is turning white. ( no albums) Than i have to restart and than all is ok.

This is impossible ... I mean, there is no way the screen can obtain those sizes by itself.

Do you indeed get the question right after the install "Your settings have been lost ... Restore old settings" ?
And do you answer No each time ?

At this moment I can only think of the "advise" to install XX on another PC (demo does not matter), so you may see yourself what the differences are, and that you maybe from there on can find what is the matter. But something really is wrong here ...

Ok Gerard, if you have some energy left ... you could try the XXHighEnd.exe in here : AIF Support ? (http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=732.0)

Nothing in there has been explicitly changed for your problem, but it is another compile anyway, and supposed you have problems with some bits fallen over, this might help. Btw, the MP3s load normally in that version (0.9x-1a) as well.

Title: Re: Errors X1
Post by: Gerard on February 05, 2009, 08:01:48 pm
Well, if you want, you can try it with the below zip. This is XXHighEnd.exe only; just copy it over the current 09.x-1 install (not over an older one !).

Please let me know.
Peter

Have to wright it again....  :(

There is no difference.... I like to show you that with the same track length (+) but with different cd's the hidden time is different. Also the root right at the bottom is different.

Can you check in c:\users (all subfolders) whether there are any spurs if XXHighEnd.exe, Unicodetrack*.wav, *.wav ?
Remember, set Show Hidden folders and all to Yes (if you see the c:\users it's allright I guess).

Edit : See above Unicodetrack*.wav (which I put differently earlier).

Peter,

it may be unrelated to Gerard's sliderbar problem, but when I started 0.9x-1 for the first time ( and subsequently 0.9x-1a ), XXHE's GUI window appeared to be outside the normal viewing area of the desktop. Likely co-ordinates were in the negative. If I used the "Maximise" function from with the taskbar entry for it, XXHE would appear and fill the screen as expected. If I then tried the "Restore down" button ( top right hand corner ) it would disappear again.

I had to use the "move" function to bring it onto my desktop, which I should add hasn't changed in definition since its initial build. ( 1280 x 800 pixels )

Once I had the window visible on my desktop everything behaved normally.

Cheers,

Russ

Ok, I think I found it. Please try below zip. It only contains XXHighEnd.exe (0.9x-1b), so copy it over 0.9x-1.
If you're at it anyway, look for new strange things during the first startup as well. :)

If it works, thank Russ for his valuable hint.
Peter

Edit : Anyone using this, should also use the ChangeWP.zip underneath it.

Peter,

It's better as you see, but the slider does not go to the end but ends 1 cm before end. (than offcourse goes to the beginning). Music play's fine. As you see first start results in below error''s

Pic 1b3 apears 3 time's where it normaly apears only 1 time. The upper two before pic3...

 :)

EDIT: put in pic version 9b.....

After a night of sleep I now realize that I changed ChangeWP in order to avoid that error (with the "X" and all). So that will be okay.

About the cursor stopping 1cm before the end, that is intentional, and always was like that.

I guess this problem has been solved now. Thanks Gerard.

have another question. As you can see from both pic's the above pic from dianna shows two stripes from the time balk next to each other. The pic from 9b has those verdeeld over the whole area... But if that's ok with you it's ok with me..

Yes.

Those stripes have a different spread at the two pictures anyway. The first implies 3.5 minutes and the second 3.0 minutes. The second implies that you indeed did something with track 1 lastly, and the first implies track 6.
This is something I don't have under control 100%, and only when the track is actually playing Attendedly, it should fit that track playing. One stripe is 10 seconds.
To understand better about my "not under control", play a track Attendedly, then click on another track and do nothing more. Now the scale is wrong, but the cursor keeps on running. It may turn out in some anomaly when the cursor reaches the end ...

Hi Peter,

Like everybody I had a lot of errors, to much to see any systematic causes, but you really solved them!
Only one is left for me:

Quote
6: Sometimes music just stops playing.

This happens almost with all the music I play and I think it happens after about 1 hour of playing a (long) album.
When I only replay the song where it happens everything is OK. If I restart the complete album it happens at the same song again.
I get the messages 'Engine # did not start within..' then: 'no track given' and then 'no track data received'.
After clicking the messages I can restart with the next song.
(X1 and X2 the same)

Title: Re: Errors X1
Post by: PeterSt on February 09, 2009, 11:27:18 am
Hmm ... that seems strange.
Can you mention the album you are experiencing this with ? and at which tracknumber it stops ?
Furthermore, please mention *all* of your settings at which this happens !

And you wouldn't have a log file of it ? :nea:
If not, don't make it especially for this (takes too much of your time) but in that case I hope I have that album ...

Title: Re: Errors X1
Post by: GerardA on February 09, 2009, 12:01:14 pm
One album is creedence clearwater revival, Chronicle, the 20 greatest hits, where it happens at song number 17, 'I heard it through the grapevine'. It is flac.
There were some more albums but I'm not sure which ones so I'll try to find some more.

My settings are:
- No processor appointment
- below normal
- high,
Dac = 24/192
32 bits
disable crack detect
width 320
split file 100
tooltips on
unattended
showdata

Volume 0
Q1 14
Q2345 15

Ï'll try to see if a regular WAV is having this problem too.

Yes, Cassandra Wilson Blue Light as Wav after song 4 'Children of the Night'
'No track given'   'No track data received' 'Enine three did not start'.
I'll try to see if I can repeat it.

Yes repeatable.
Added two logfiles.

I removed some garbage from the musidirectory and play with 300 in stead of 100, no problems yet. Could this be important?
No success, still the same problem...

Hi Gerad(A),

In your last post you said you played Unattended. You logfile shows otherwise.

In the mean time, Russ, is that Attened or Unattended with you ?

Thank you both,

I just tried that album - volume one - and while all went right I then discovered this was a cue file version.
Might you have another example, please let me know.
(I have volume 2 in a normal version)

In the mean time ... your log file indeed shows things go wrong, but right now I don't know what to make of it really. It is a start though.

Hi Peter,

the "white screen" bug happens regardless of the setting of attended/unattended.

I've tried various combinations of settings and I can reproduce the bug simply by deleting the LibraryData.txt file from the working directory.

If I choose the Library tab, and then click on any entry in the lefthand gallery list, the folder art will appear in the middle panel as expected but will immediately be replaced with a whitescreen. Choosing another entry from the left panel will not change the middle panel. It will remain white.

If I close down XXHE and restart everything behaves itself as normal. It is only the initial running of XXHE when LibraryData.txt has not been created yet that this bug is evident.

Should be easy to squash this bug :)

Cheers,

Russ

Can't it be so that at such a moment the Library Area contains albums from one of your music disks (like I:\) instead of from the Gallery ?
In that case the disk may need to spin up ...

No, the library is connected to the Gallery.

Select an album from the Library area
the traks are shown in the playlist-tab
Quits XX via the <OFF>-button
Start XX
Select the playlist area
Clear the playlist via <CLEAR>-button
Switch to the Library-tab
at the moment it takes 5 seconds

When you do this without quiting XX, it takes 1 sec to show the albums in the Library area.
