Title: 0.9x-4 -- last track being played twice
Post by: Calibrator on March 05, 2009, 03:36:53 pm
Hi Peter,

On at least 2 occassions now with ver 0.9x-4, the last track from a playlist has been played twice. I noticed it earlier this afternoon when I sat down to have a dedicated listen to this new version, and again just now. It may also have happened again in between those times when playing in the background but I didn't notice if it did.

I have some screen shots which may be of some help in the absense of log files, which I didn't have active at the time. If you  need some logging I will turn that on. Just say the word.

The first screen dump shows the contents of the two key *.dao files and the !Played.PLXX file. The last two dumps show the recently created files sorted by creation date and modified date. Hopefully they will assist in visualising the order things were created.

On another note, the "CoverArt bug" I reported about recently in 0.9x-3 re-occurred shortly after running 0.9x-4 for the first session. In this instance though, I was still running with the default thread and player priorities in the settings page ( ie. NOTHING ). When amended to my normal settings of PlayerPri(BelowNorm), ThreadPri(High) I haven't had that CoverArt bug re-occur. Will keep fingers crossed :)

Cheers,

Russ the bug hunter.

BTW .. you may want to remove the "tooltip" about the Q Control not being implemented yet when you hover the mouse over the Q control tab.

Hahaha, the other day I was typing some stuff on PC-1, while PC-2 played some strange piano track. After 20 minutes it started to occur to me that I seemed to have heard things twice. So I looked, and the track was 3 minutes short, and the last one.
Well, at least, this way won't let us wake up with a djzzzp, djzzzp, djzzzp from a needle at the end of the LP, right ?

Thanks so much for all the gathered info. I am sure this is related to the other thing you mentioned earlier : the one but last track showing as the last played, while actually the last track played. It happens since then, I'm fairly sure. Spent some hours on it already, but could not solve it thus far.

Peter

Dear Buggy Russ,

Can it be so that you changed the volume or Invert during that last track ?
I have been testing it tonight, but can't let it go wrong. However, the other day with the endless repeat I did change volume ...

Please don't start to explicitly test it, because I still think that it is related to that "one but last" situation I spoke about. So I will first solve that, and then we'll see further.

Peter

No changes during the playing of those albums as I was in unattended mode as normal  :)

I presume the question is related to the addition of the "Read , Read , Intended Change 2" text at the bottom of XXDat001.dao file ?

I've been playing several albums here today and everything is behaving itself, so this may well be another timing issue of some sort. Will continue to monitor and if it happens again will try and note any other activities on the PC I was doing at the time.

Cheers,

Russ

Correct. One time Read denotes one time of (the intention of) starting the track.

If all is right this is solved in the next version (0.9x-5).

Nope ...

Although I never saw it anymore, it just happened to me (0.9x-5). :sorry:
