Title: XXHE and DSP claims
Post by: Fidelio on November 09, 2009, 06:33:18 am
Many people are accusing XXHE for adding DSP effects and/or EQ. The latest I saw was a guy on Head-Fi who mentioned that Peter has said this was the case on the computeraudiophile forum. WTF?

He can has his opion, (we life in a free world)

But the only one who is adding color is himself, just stick with Foobar then, I would say.
 :)

Its all about removing coloring and filtering of any kind, certainly not adding it.

I am sure he is wrong obviously, but I thought perhaps Peter would like to know that people are spreading fallacies about his player.

It took me 3 secs to hear the difference between xx and foobar.

If you can not hear it, stick with foobar, whats the point then anyway.
Why bother yourself, with stuff you can not even comprehend to understand !

But always nice to provogue Peter a little, I can see he does get the humor out of this.

Would there be a section available at the Betty Ford's Clinic.

For the xx addicts, among us. 8)

Fidelio - thanks.

Well, this guy doesn't explicitly say that I said that over at CA, but I saw another one (also head-fi IIRC) who did. I really can't tell what these guys have read, but it probably will be about a language problem (on my side ).

I have put a small response in there.
Again thanks,
Peter

Lots of people suspects that Amarra (a player for mac) does DSP. That has not being denied by their developers. I was not aware that such claims were made for xxhe. But we know that this is not true and Peter is only doing his best to make the software NOT sound (excluding upsampling from the equation for the moment).
Such claims are just silly imo.
