Okay, but why is Album 1\Titel 1 en Album 2\Titel 1 not unique? There is a clear difference in the path name Album 1 and Album 2 or not?

Regards,
Martijn

I read you previous post more carefully again and saw that this behavior was not intended that way, but already known by you. So if it's no problem for you, i have no problem with it either!

Martijn

Hey Peter,

If it's intended to function that way it's no problem for me. I thought maybe it was a bug and you would be interested to know. I had only the problem when i put two albums in the playlist which are not converted with track names because of leg of cddb information. The change of happening is small but i had it by hand so i thought i report it.

Cheers with your new version of xxhe. I hope to have the pleasure to try it very soon!

Regards,
Martijn
5  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Bug in playlist 0.9z6.1c? on: July 29, 2012, 01:42:43 am
Hi Peter,

After a long time i decided to try out xxhighend again with the latest version 0.9z6.1c on my laptop. Everything is working fine exept i have a stange problem by loading different tracks with the same filename in the playlist and play them.

For example i have two diffenent albums with tracks called:

Album1
-Track1
-Track2
-Track3
Album2
-Track1
-Track2
-Track3
-Track4

I put them in the play list and start to play the first 2 tracks of album 1. Everything went okay and music is playing. Then i stop playback And make a new selection of  track1&track2 from album 2. Then hit play but to my suprise i don't hear track 1 from Album 2 but track 1 from Album 1.

I have tested it with different tracks with the same tracknames. But with every try i had the same problem. It looks like xxhighend didn't check if the newly selected track1 is different than the one played before and assumes that is not a new selected track but the old one and so starts to play the old (already in memory) track1.

So it looks to me that xxhighend only checks on the name of the file (track) and not on it's properties like size, location or crc code etc. to determine if it's a different track (file) or not. But maybe i'm totally wrong by this...

Hope i explained the problem clearly to you with the above example and that you can reproduce the problem (bug?).

Greetings,
Martijn

9  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Invert Phase, Crack detect and distortion on: February 11, 2011, 09:45:46 pm
Hi,

I tried invert Phase setting. With some tracks i get a crack detect message. But when i disable it it plays ok. I mention when i lower the volume slider by 3dB in xxHighend everything plays ok also with Invert Phase on. So i tried to disable Crack detect. When i do that these songs play but i get distortion at bass parts and also the tweeter give some distortion. So i quicky turn the music off.

Why rise the Inverse Phase option the overall output and is the sound clipping sometimes? I read already something on the xxhe forum about that invert Phase can give the music more punch. But how is that option make the output signal clipping?

I want to add to my last writing that is really not ment as negative about the NOS Phasure DAC or Peters hard work to develop, i'am sure, such a fantastic sounding dac. Only thing is that i'am not sure that his  develop philisophy can only lead to the best sounding dac. I think there are more ways to Rome ;-) BUt i'am really curious about the quality of Peters DAC. So i hope there will be a time that i can compare or only listen to the Phasure DAC.

So Peter keep up the good work with xxhighend and your Phasure DAC!

Greetz,
Martijn

Hi Peter,

How can you be so sure about the quality of your dac and call other dac's doing so wrong? I have bought the Lampizator DAC new version 3 and Lukasz also tells that his dac out preform (almost) every dac in the world. But i know that a lot of manufactures also call there products the best (for marketing reasons or they really think that there products are sounding the best). And then you have buyers of a product which are so happy with the new sound and give a good review. But how can you objectivaly measure the music quality of a product when every person have a subjective opinion about what he defines as the ultimate musical sensation. And then you have the different  audio hardware, (tube) amps, cd player, cables, speakers etc. which all should sound different with a specific dac.

Sorry if i sound sceptical it's not really ment that way ;-) and don't see it as a that i defending the Lampizator dac because all the above is also true for his dac's.

Maybe you can explain what makes you think that your dac is really one of the best?

My experience with the stock hiface, best without USB cable. With normal USB cable it gets worse. More expensive cable i didn't test.

@Bernie, I'am thinking more and more toward the Audiophilleo 2, but i think it's still a awful lot of money for just a s/pdif adaptor. But if it gives such a enormous boost in sound quality i have to consider this seriously. What you are saying it will safe you the money of a good s/pdif cable and in compare of the modded hiface MK2 a good USB cable. Only think i don't know how needed it is for the MK2 to have a good usb cable or that it also will make not a big difference?
