1  Ultimate Audio Playback / Playback Tweaks and Source related subjects / Re: Minority Clean on: February 20, 2022, 06:11:28 pm
Hi Michael,

this is an older string, but I did a ctr-F on Audiophile Optimizer and Fidelizer on this forum and came here.
I,m using XXHe for a long time. It's the best player imho. But: last week I found some nice music on Bandcamp and wanted it to try via my systems other OS disk. The music sounded dull and considerably less nice than via my phone and buds. So I tried to find a way to upgrade the sq via a search on the net. I stumbled on Fidelizer (Free version) and was so bold to try it on Foobar first (not tried it with Bandcamp yet..)
Foobar sounded suddenly almost as well as well as my XXHe in min OS!
So I tried it also on XXHe (in min OS), at first in Consumer mode..
THAT SOUNDED VERY GOOD INDEED!! Better than before at least
Then in Audiophile mode: THAT SOUNDED LIKE I WAS IN HEAVEN!!
My questions are:
I see you use Audiophile Optimize, Fidelizer Pro and MinorityClean icw XXHe.
Is XXHe then in min OS?
What are your settings for Audiophile Optimizer and Fidelizer? For with me XXHe looses a lot in min OS: gallery- and Cover functions are almost dead then!
How is your start-up procedure with these 3 programs icw XXhe?
Did you write a batch for it?
How is it with the stability of XXHe icw the 3 programs
Pls advice
Best Regards
HW
2  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: RME Dac with no Kernel Streaming on: September 15, 2020, 08:17:25 pm
Thanks, Peter. I already pulled all the handlesl and pushed all the buttons, but nothing worked properly. Also the latest drivers were installed
 The DAC is sent back

3  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / RME Dac with no Kernel Streaming on: September 09, 2020, 08:19:24 pm
Hi Peter,

I recently bought a RME ADI-2 FS Dac, because it had great reviews. It is a 32Bit 768KHz DAC)
It has no possibility for the use of Kernel streaming. However I CAN play music via XXHe, but only 16 Bit files, not higher. And only then when I switch off the fx button and leave the Output Sample Rate slider in the left corner (in the Settings I choose: Analog (1+2)(RME ADI-2 DAC))
3 Questions:
- How come Foobar2000 gives me no problem at all in playing all sorts of files, thus also 24Bit files?
- How can I activate WASAPI again? By choosing Engine#3, yes, but how?
- If I want to leave the settings mainly as like now (thus Kernel), what do I have to do to be able to play 24Bit and 32 Bit (and why can't I use the Upsample Slider?)
Best Regards, HW

6  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / No Scrolling? on: May 13, 2020, 02:42:02 pm

Hi Peter,
I noticed sadly that the scroll-wheel of my mouse (or the 2 fingers sweeping on my touch pad) have no effect in the gallery pane, nor in the other panes of the UI.
Would you please de-bug this?

For the rest: extremely fine sound quality with this version!!!

best regards, HW

Hi Peter,

I tried again all your suggestions, but the message still stays the same.
No, I don't use Tidal
After I pressed CLEAR (I can only do so after I clicked away the infamous message): the normal screen appears with the text  'XXHighend W10 14393.0  model 2.10c

 unhappy HW

Hi Peter,

thanks for your reply.
Happily I still can normally start XXHe.
I tried all your suggestions, but nothing did help so far (BTW: I couldn't find Played.dat in the XX folder...)

Hi Peter,

I didn't change the speed of the CPU (it is still like when I bought it) Just the upgrade to W10 and the latest XXHe were the only changes this year.
But the problem was already showing before, albeit less often (I think..)
Anyhow, it was not changing the player priority that seemed to help, but the W10 services button in the Settings.
If blue, the problem is away (so it seems: when I press it, the problem instantly shows again)
I didn't hear a change in sound quality so far with the W10 services on (i.e. blue button)

Hi Peter,

thanks. I read earlier about the speed of the system for this, but I didn't change anything (CPU speed or elsewhere)
I'll try it with changed player priority and get back to you.
And about the two messages: yes! 1 AND 2! As long as I don't touch the pop up. I usually can "go around" the problem.

Kind Regards, HW
14  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Audio Device could not be determined on: November 14, 2016, 02:09:20 pm
Hi Peter,

I love the sound of your player, but I (too) often get the pop up message: "(obtain audio device) Audio Device Could Not Be Determined (file error)"
As long as I don't do anything with this pop-up, the player acts normally: I can put new music in the playlist and play it, but now and then I've to close and restart XXHe to get sound. Is this something in the settings or the configuration of XXHe, or is it something else, like the fact that I've a sound card in my PC in stead of an external DAC?
15  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Q5 issue on: February 24, 2016, 10:40:03 am
Hi Peter,
Henk-Willem is the name...We met already two times at Veldhoven.
But more important: the problem is solved!!!!!
As you and Johan suggested: I changed the Processor Scheme to NOTHING, restarted and the problem was no longer there. Sorry I missed the suggestion earlier. Did I already said I'm sorry?
With a Little Help from My Friends......
A small issue did pop up however:  when I changed the Processor Scheme on the SETTINGS page and then restarted, the Processor Scheme under the Q button still indicates CORE 1-2
I play now again with Core 1-2 on both places and no troubles anymore.
I will play with the XTweaks as you suggested  another time, for the beautiful sound I hear now doesn't make me eager to change anything at all.
I'll change my profile with the new settings, so other i3 users might profit.

Best Regards, Henk-Willem
