Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Ordering in Library (0.9l) and playlist

I do not have any Dos-Boxes - moved around too often to have any lying around.
For what its worth I recall having the same Library button track sort symptom/workaround. Without trying to rub salt in, Foobar (which I used before moving to XX) keeps alphabetic ordering on tracks when selecting an album directory.

More Images... 1st is using Library Button on same ethernet drive(presumably a Windows function). 2nd is with CDs in the music root (though I have other directories at same level starting CD... i.e. CDs Breton where the genre is very different) 3rd is with a CDs directory in C: (set as music root) - this is sorted 4th is Playlist from there - this too is sorted
The ethernet drive is a 2TB Lacie BigDisk
My mother always said I was unkempt and unsorted... Steve

Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Ordering in Library (0.9l) and playlist

Hi Peter,
XP SP2
I have had problems previously with loading using the Library button: the Ordering in the Playlist, but found a workaround (i.e. select last track, shift click first track maintains alphabetic ordering loading into playlist.) This workaround still functions.
With 0.9l, in the library tab, I do not get alphabetic ordering. Loading into the playlist using the Load button, I get ordering of tracks: 09, 10, 11, 12, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08
I would include some screenshots but IrfanView capture gives me a nice shot of what is underneath XX? What screenshot capture software works on XX?
Best regards Steve

Ultimate Audio Playback / Your thoughts about the Sound Quality / Re: Goodbye Foobar Grunge

Hi Peter,
Yes it is very nice to hear the excellent sound.
I am not a diehard - I listen to headphones whilst working (programmer).
My loudspeaker system has been dismantled for some years as there was no room in my previous home. I am looking to rebuild when the daylight shortens.
>>Once you'd know that a lot of the cleanness comes from the elimination of standing waves in the room, one might wonder what happens without a room (or is it a very small room there in that caps ?) I dont understand how XX player can reduce standing waves without Bose-ing the sound - which is the opposite of bit perfect? Please explain.
>> Steve, I don't know whether you are a die-hard headphone user, but if so, would you say you could get real satisfaction by the improvement you obtain ? This sounds like it could be an expensive question... but yes. [... and I was not unhappy with Foobar, just XX removes a few more veils so the sound becomes more intimate]
Steve.
