1  Ultimate Audio Playback / Interesting Music / Testmaterial / Re: Recommended: Bjørn Berge - Blackwood on: May 16, 2012, 10:26:05 am
I also know about Bjørn Berge (have spoken to him sometimes)

However. Only about 5 of the songs on this album happen to have good sound. The others are compressed. Some are very compressed.

Testet win8 server today. Just virtual to get a feel on it. Seems very unfinished.

Have tried win8 alot. You can "disable" the new gui if you want.
(Have not got used to it yet)
It runs easier than a standard Win7 installation already.
I have not tried win8 as a Music player. Just used it with a virtual installation.

I am perfectly satisfied with my tweaked win2008r2 64bit that is better sounding than win7 (both ultimate, enterprise) for my ears.
Win8 server is also out. Will look into it.

pedal - feel free to elaborate further.

When we know about all the "false" marketing tricks from some resellers of HD music - and all they do is to introduce "noise" in one form or another - how can this be good?

If your ears tell you otherwise it is a good thing for you.
I have analyzed some HD material (using izotope RX, audiocity etc.). I can tell you, not all is good.
I think it is a very good article. Maybe everything is not 100% correct but it makes you think doesn't it?

Only 1 nick.

Posts were regarding NOS1. How it is build up and so on.
I have in fact changed the psu in one.

I think it was in an already started topic.

Sincerely

Strange very strange. 5 possibilities...

1. A server crash with an old backup restore? ( I cannot find any post regarding that issue here)
2. Administrator or moderator deleted all my posts? (how many mods are there?)
3. Someone logged into my account (as me - hacking) and deleted the posts? (If they are able to edit after a while?)
4. Could be a "post scrubbing" is enabled in the SMF forum but i doubt that
5. Something is just not right?

Use a high quality soundcards spdif out and you could get extremely good sound.
Like Asus Essence st(x).. Look at stereophiles measurements of the spdif connection.

Much better than usb-spdif in my setup

Sincerely

I have not been extremely busy in this forum but my earlier posts have vanished. Why and how?

Sincerely

Yes it is interesting.
Not much mumbo jumbo in that article.

Still I have a feeling that age is quite important regarding these issues.

Lots of people really enjoy hirez music and hirez dacs. Still just as many prefer 16bit/18bit dacs (tda1541, ad1865 etc..)
Strange isn't it?
