61  Ultimate Audio Playback / Interesting Music / Testmaterial / Re: How to get 24/96 from a DVD ? on: March 05, 2008, 01:24:42 pm
If you have no idea how to do, try this:
http://www.castudio.org/dvdaudioextractor/

If you ask for a more sufiticated or audiophil program (like EAC is compared to Windows Mediaplayer CD extraction) I can't give you an answer.

It's a solid programm and easy to use.

best regards

Ava

I hope so. I recently got a Plextor Premium 2 and I can say that it is good.
It burns CD with less Jitter. But I sadly can't proof if it is very good at ripping. I just ripped my CD collection again with it. But I've no tool to verify my wavs.
So can't answer it.
I mainly got it to burn nice CDs with MFSL Ultradiscs and AMQR and all those things this draive supports.

I am and I think all are.
If that'll work, it would be a major upgrade, so the patience will be worth the little more time to wait.
Isn't it that way XXHighEnd'ers? Wink

So and lets say, if XX would support 24 Bit or real 20 Bit resolution you would have to use an alogarithm which converts the "20 Bit" wav into a real 20 Bit or even 24 Bit stream.
Wouldn't that be the way?

But every HDCD which I rip with EAC contains the HDCD stream in the wav file, doesn't it?

So 20Bit?
Is there any chance to get a HDCD Stream (from a HDCD CD) as lets say a 20 Bit wav file (I don't know if there is more 20 Bit material out there).
So you can play it in XX. When 20 Bit is no such a hard challenge as 24 Bit?  Happy

73  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Priority bug (?) under Win XP on: December 21, 2007, 12:24:58 am
I've got a tiny little bug, as you could call it, in my system.
I'm sadly still using a demo version under Win XP, but maybe someone else got the same problem. Here it is:
When I change the Player prio from standard normal to above normal, not only XXHighEnd.exe goes above the normal priority but (almost) all programs go above normal priority.
Was this intended? Is there any big mistake I'm missing?
I'm currently using 0.9t-o but I've got the same problem with 0.9sb-2.
Is it a bug anyhow? Or is this alright?
I'm greatful for any comment

74  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Problems with playback on: December 14, 2007, 07:58:39 pm
Thank You!!!
I think it is that problem.
Except I'm using Windows XP on a laptop. I'm trying to specify it more, yet I can say that the reason was, that I connected ma external Logitech G15 keyboard to the laptop and it destroyed the SQ. It's not only happening when you're using two USB connectiions on your motherboard but also when you're using a USB Hub in between. That's sad. As Peter already pointed out it should be a general problem with the USB interface, isn't it?
Since some while I had the concern that my external soundcard the Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Audio Notebook is actually no real Pc-Card-Express soundcard but a USB soundcard connected to the USB connectors in the PC-Card-Interface.->sad
But thank you very much for your quick help!!!!
with regards Tobias
75  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Problems with playback on: December 14, 2007, 03:43:04 pm
Since 2 days I've been having serious problems with the audio playback via XXHighEnd. I'm using XP with XXHighEnd 0.9sb-2. During playback i'm hearing klicks and plops. Irregularly, when I'm moving my mouse over the display it's getting worse. It's going that far, that there are breaks in the music. It's sounding awfully "digital" like skratches on a cd, but there weren't any, and for comparison the payback via foobar is still ok, with the same files. Although I don't really like to listen my precious music via foobar anymore, since I use XXHighEnd. I beg you to healp me . I'm helpless. I try to sent you an example, if you like, and are interested in this bug. Hopefully it's only my system^^
