91  Ultimate Audio Playback / Chatter and forum related stuff / Re: Audiocadabra USB cable tour on: January 06, 2015, 07:44:34 pm
Hi Juan,

I dont have the YFS cable with me anymore.

After trying a few USB cables, I'm forming my concept of the USB sound. I'll post that in detail in the comming weeks.

The audiocadabra cable is similar to Peter's cable in terms of performance. The sound is spectrally balanced. Its not a "wow" cable. There is a great head nodding factor, which I suspect related to cable specifics. However I need to have more listening time to form my opinion.
The YFS cable from my memory, is a wow cable, then it might take you eitherway.

I suggest everyone to try both cables.

Regards,
VJ

Peter,
Yup ... the Indie way  Wink
That was the first question I asked Denny, after reading that review. Apparently that braid process is used for longer cables to help manage it better. So shorter cables are still  MK-I.

Hi,
Happy new year to everyone.

Denny from Audiocadabra is willing to send his dual headed USB cable out on tour to EU. So I would suggest you seize this opportunity to try out this excellent cable. This cable has been running in my system for the last few weeks.

Please let me know on the forum or PM if interested, and we can set a tour.

So,
Do the upgraded clocks have their own power supply?

Merry Christmas to one and all !!

Guys,
My experience is that, a lot of things can go wrong when changing cables ... i.e. USB. The same cable can sound all over the place, related to DC, grounding, dielectric relaxation, or other unknowns, some of which might not be related to the cable itself.
When I had 2 models of the YFS, I kept going back and forth between 3-4 cables, and in the end things just did not right, with any cable.

Coen and Stan,

Thank you for the kind words. I would request anyone else in the EU interested in trying out the cable, sending me a PM. The cable is heading to Michael, (GR) and next to Mani(UK) otherwise.

"Improvement of sq exceeded my expectation. I keep on discovering details I never heard/noticed before.  Even less tiering sound...very natural... Not sure how to describe the change... Recommended! "

KnB ......

Though I don't have the entire 75B setup, with the present Blaxius BNC/RCA adapters, I sense not only lowering of noise, but also a component of phase correction.

Blaxius first impression:

1.  Very defined 3D
2.  Much more treble/bass
3.  Tonality much more flushed out.

Overall a very very convincing acoustic reality!!

It's not a WOW cable .... Just a better in every possible angle .... It's however just my prelim impression.

Guys,

Just a clarification.

This is the "Ref" Data USB cable on tour. Not the V4 as I originally mentioned.

Hi Coen,

What are your thought about the image size, size of the soundstage (i.e. classical), and the spectral balance when compared to the phasure cable?

Hi,
I've compared 2 YFS cables, one Cu with Ag coating (V4, the model that you have), and the other pure Cu(custom). this is in comparison to the Phasure cable. Bass is excellent. I've listened to a 3m drum, which sounds like a 3m drum (sound pressurizing the room is disorienting). F4 takeoff, sound pretty authentic (hold on to your pants .. etc). Subharmonics go well below 30 Hz. There is slightly better bass resolution with the YFS cable (actually overall resolution, and better SNR). There is a slight noise with the Phasure cable, one will notice better after hearing the data only cable. The edginess with the V4 is "reduced" with custom cable. Laser sharp imaging is seen with both.  There there are a few differences b/w the 2 models I tried, with sound staging and spectral balance when compared to Phasure cable.

Coen, I would play it for a few hours/overnight to maybe burn them in again. Maybe that might help.

**edit** The tour cable is Ref Data cable

The YFS cable has made it to NL.
So far we have Coen and Stan. Anyone else interested in NL, I  would  suggest to send me a PM.
