YES with the new settings.

I went back to the silverstone USB card last night and the difference is not small in my setup. I have now removed it completely.

I have also gone back to old XXhighend settings and they lasted for about  5 seconds. All sounding very good.

Juan,
It often appears more difficult than it is. And one is always anxious that we don't stuff it up and have no music, me included.

Follow Peter's instructions closely it works perfectly. I bring up Xxhighend instructions on my tablet which I have beside me and work through the settings on your audio computer.

I'm probably telling you something you already know. I have been printing out metres of Xxhighend instructions and decided recently to use my tablet. I'm over 60 so a bit slow to using new technology.

I used isotousb.com to setup ISO file in USB flashdrive.

215  Ultimate Audio Playback / Chatter and forum related stuff / PC Bios settings using Asus AI Tweaker on: July 14, 2016, 11:38:42 pm
I have managed to use most of Peter's XXhighend PC Bios settings in my Asus Mobo(Z97-A) using AI Tweaker.

I'm struggling with setting Core ratio's.

Can anyone help me with this one please?

Also I would be interested in other Bios settings you may have used with the Asus Mobo.

Peter,
After this process should one remove W10-10565 TRIAL(do not use) permanently from Ram OS. And reset Bios date to current date.

In fact remove W10-10565 Base and RAM also. I've only ever used 10586.

I can never get the Windows 7 DVD download tool to work on my 64 bit computer. I've been using isotousb.com freeware.

Definitely more profound bass. Extended listening in my room has shown this. I have knocked back active sub output ever so slightly as a result. Bass on electronic music is better more controlled.

Highs are misleading especially in volume. Really noticeable when turned down how loud they were but clean sounding no distortion.

Juan,
Yes I found the same with Mobo USB input. Although I did say the silverstone sounded better I did have problems with the Silverstone USB dropping out on occasions(fixed by reinstalling usb software) and going back to Mobo always sounded very good.

The more I listen though with new settings(xtweaks, SFS, Custom Filter) xx206 and Mobo USB input its definitely an upgrade in sound.

This is a lot of changes in a short space of time. I will listen longer then go back to original. I won't be changing xx206 though.

Has no one else tried the new settings????

219  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd PC / Sustain RAM OS Settings ? on: July 06, 2016, 06:32:00 am
Peter,
In terms of Xtweaks do you apply the settings each time you play an album. I havn't touched these settings as I thought in Ram OS these were not working.
After playback has finished in unattended the settings seem to go back to unset.

I see you list them in your signature.

Balanced load, Nervous, stable power and utilise cores.

Also do you run both keyboard and mouse into one PS2 input? You mention a y connector. I presume you y connect both mouse and keyboard usb into 2 x usb input to ps2 female adapter.

What about running a wireless usb to both keyboard and mouse through the PS2 adapter?

Trying these new settings in my setup certainly improved the sound, even going to the High filter setting for my setup helped(174/192). I have swapped back to Mobo USB3 this has always been good sounding somewhat smoother than the Silverstone. More listening required to see what is better Silverstone or Mobo.

Hires files play complete albums at 120 SFS.

Hi Peter,

I've finally setup my music via Lan using an old computer.

I'm having problems with keeping the network connection open from the old computer. Rebooting music server did solve the connection issue yesterday but I have had to reboot it again today. I don't turn off this computer but it does go into sleep mode after 3 hours.
I have loaded W10 into the music computer and it is not connected to the internet. Both computers are connected directly together as per diagram at start of this topic.

What network software setup should I use to keep the connection open? I used Microsoft network settings. Is it necessary to use homegroups?

Ram OS works fine when it sees the music server so all is good here I think.

223  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: XXHighEnd-206 and Ram OS on: June 19, 2016, 11:30:03 am
Peter all worked perfectly 206 up and running in Ram OS. Sound is better. Thanks.

I did try the old Xxhighend 2.04 in another drive updated to 206. But sound is no comparison to Ram OS. Quickly reverted to Ram OS.

Still issues with Hi Res files, some play whole albums at .10 SFS, others at 1 SFS and some only at 4 SFS. Anyway have been largely listening to 16/44.

Hi Peter,
I've read everything but was wondering in regards to applying this updated file to Ram OS.

What is the basic procedure to do this?

I am looking at just using the patch over MyW10-10586.vhd file which I have backed up. Doing this in 10656 TRIAL(Normal OS mode).

My recent Ram os disk partition expansion should remain in place?

Will I have to activate 206?

225  Ultimate Audio Playback / Chatter and forum related stuff / Re: The affect an HDD has on sound quality on: June 02, 2016, 10:34:39 pm
Mani,
Yes certainly does sound better without HDD in place. I've been enjoying the Ram OS anyway, its such an improvement over the former playback method. Thanks for music clip I have found some new music in Hadouk Trio very interesting.

I'm about to double my ram to 32g so I can play whole albums of Hires not that I have many, but the few I have do make CD(CD's I like) sound lacking and lifeless.

In fact Peter this is notification I'm increasing my Ram for OS playback.

Regards Robert
