There isn't any detail information (via a button) on the message possible, right ?

Meanwhile I will try to think of what this can be ...

It just works here on that Build (not activated, no Playback attempt).
It is only that I don't see the Build number in the Playlist Area after pressing Clear. So this is odd anyway.

You guys did check all the .exe's for being Blocked, right ?

Think Robert already mentioned it is latest W10 update.

OK, then I am curious how you'd think I know what the latest update is for you (or Robert), say one week after. Anyway I have no clue (obviously).
Mine is 16299.341 (always online). So worthless in this regard.

And it is exactly the same thing that happened to my 14393.0 AudioPC:

OK, now I don't understand what you're saying. You mean that 2.10c does not work for you on even 14393.0 ?

I suppose I am lost now. dntknw

Peter

Hi Robert,

What is the Build of that Windows 10 ?
I think these days a command prompt will show it readily in the prompt itself. But otherwise in there run WinVer.

Hopefully I can find a machine with the same Build over here and try it ...

Robert,

XXHighEnd-210e-X.rar

What happens with that one ?
Paste over your current 2.10(x) folder, unzip in there and try it.

Hi Robert,

Yes, there are a lot of complaints, lately.

Question : Why do you not prevent Updates via XXHighEnd, though in Normal OS etc. ? I'd reckon this just works ?
Watch out please : if this fails, it will be because of Defender blocking some registry change I apply. Please let me know if you recognise that this indeed is the case. If so, I have a version for you which will avoid this issue (while Defender can keep on running).

Best regards,
Peter

Its not worth the trouble to make it do anything less I guess.

Robert, that could be correct.
But that doesn't prohibit that it should normally run in a random "normal" OS. But as this is "updated" Windows 10, well ... now I don't know.

What about coughing up the newest logfile starting with XX when this message is on-screen ?

Peter

Hi George,

Well, this will be tough to investigate then. All I know is that it may "rain" the very same messages when you in Minimized OS try something like setting the screen background as the easiest example. And while you receive the message from rightclick on the desktop, doing the same via control panel gives no issues.

Point is and remains : one (Robert) should use the PC "as is" and not half-tweak with XXHighEnd (like shutting off UAC).

Btw, Robert, when do you receive that message ? what did you do to incur for it ?

Regards and thank you George,
Peter

I tried to add message photo to this message but this wouldn't work either.

Robert, why not ? If you don't know how to do it, under Aditional Options during posting (under the window you're typing in).

It comes to me that the UAC always must be on for normal usage. So the error very well can spring from that.

Peter

GDPR

Questions ?
Something missing perhaps ?

More leaks like UPS to be found ?

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) incurs for an explicit statement of what we at Phasure do with your address data. The answer is : nothing but store it in the database of our ERP system so invoices and physical goods can be addressed.

Invoice and Shipping Addresses

Phasure does and did not use any means of gathering collections of address data, select it by any means including geografical or use it in any form of commercial activity including selling or handing the data to third parties.
The only thing we can think of how the GDPR applies to Phasure is that we should ask you whether it is OK with you to store your address data in our database in order to make you an address label etc. Well, we won't because it is too far out. You hand the data for this reason and this reason alone so no need to ask.

In the case of physical goods shipment the address data ends up in the database of UPS (United Parcel Service) and is stored there to our convenience in case we require it another time, later (a next shipment). UPS also requires a telephone number and this number is stored in our ERP system as well as in the UPS database.
We take it that UPS et al does not use your data in any form and grant it beyond our scope to investigate this.
UPS et all is seated in the USA, the USA not being eligible for the GPDR as it is not Europe.

Forum Email addresses

In case you actively use this forum (participate with postings) you will have registered your real or fake name and an email address which is necessary for technical (forum) reasons. We don't foresee a future where such an email address is used to unsollicitly send you an email, unless for forum reasons or reach out to you where normal contact seems impossible. This will always be on your behalf.
These email addresses are and were not sold or handed to third parties.

Forum Private Messages

This means of communication will never be used to address you with any unsollicited commercial messages. Do notice that it is you, the user of the forum, who often initiates such communication for commercial reason him-/herself.

Communication Email addresses

The emails you sent to Phasure are stored in our email system in normal "flat" form everybody knows and uses. We can search in it as usual and very well known.
We can use your email address to e.g. offer you an upgrade on a product you bought from Phasure, although so far this never happened. But for example, might we ever come up with a successor of the Lush USB Audio cable, we may notify you by email and you will only be happy we did so.
Your email is not stored in any database, unless it is accidentally the same as the email address required for (UPS and) shipment - now it is stored together with your given address data you provided explicitly for the shipping.

Webshop orders and address, email and telephone data

This is the data you entered in your PayPal account (Profit) information and is mainly required for shipping (in our case via UPS). Possibly the webshop system (Shopify) is capable of selecting/grouping/etc. on this data but we are not using it. We also don't use the internal messaging/communication mechanism.
We take it that Shopify et al does not use your data in any form and grant it beyond our scope to unvestigate this.
Shopify et all for what this concerns is probably seated in the USA, the USA not being eligible for the GPDR as it is not Europe.

PayPal - address, email and telephone data

Not all of your purchases (like downloadable software) via PayPal require address and telephone data but in any event we do not have "selectable" access (that we know of) to PayPal data.
We take it that PayPal et al does not use your data in any form and grant it beyond our scope to unvestigate this.
Notice that this data - you (ever back) entered in the PayPal systems - is not directly related to its users (e.g. Phasure) and that it is retrieved when in order for any vendor.

Hi Robert,

I don't see why not;
The problems (with upgraded W10 OSes) usually emerge in the Minimized OS path and this now is not in order. So I think it should be fine. And if not, you are going to tell us ?
Happy

Kind regards,
Peter

I thought I had read that the opposite was true.   That's the way it is with audio I guess.

Hi Charlie,

Yes, this was the status (quo) of say 10 years back when the SSD was new. And, I (or we) already knew that with time progressing, new SSD techniques came about and from there on YMMV from week to week. Personally I never tried it because from theory the SSD is wors (less even current usage). But this is theory and it will highly (!) depend on the remainder of your system and how the SSD relates to that in terms of current usage. And not only "system" as such as it can go beyond that (like with BIOS and even software settings).
And so I gave up on that ling ago and came up with the RAM-OS Disk. This is there now for what ? ... 3 years ? 4 ? but anyway preceeding that was 2.5-3 years of getting it done.
IOW : With the RAM-OS Disk you remove the HDD or SSD after booting and there is nothing (OS is booted from RAM). And now it has to be better because there's just nothing there. And if it is not for the better something else is going on and you'd "need" to find it.

Best regards,
Peter

PS: The RAM-OS Disk (in SSD form) costs 370 euros and is preloaded with W8 and 3x W10 build and activated XXHighEnd.
839  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: How to Shift-Click in 2.10? on: May 20, 2018, 08:11:37 am
Hi there Charlie,

Although I didn't realize that this was the net workout of the new selection mechanism, yes, that is how it technically would work. And I see, not the most convenient for someone with a "normal" keyboard.
Call it a bug as of now.

Why "we" may not notice is because we don't use a keyboard at all (only touch screen) and the changes have been applied for exactly that situation because with a touch screen the whole implied Windows feature isn't available in the first place (but if it is, someone is going to tell me). So this is how the "Select" new option in the context (rightclick) menu on the tracks come in ... (see Release Notes of 2.10). As a work around you can use that just the same, although it surely would be less convenient than the direct shift-click as how you (can) apply it. But for you it may serve as a temporary solution until the next version.

Btw, I thought I covered for this, but the whole application is quite complex, so it probably got undone under way somewhere. Similarly I myself can incur for quite some more bugs in this realm, but this is what I expected (and announced).

Kind regards and thank you for your sharpness (as usual),
Peter

All right Henk-Willem.
Can you set up a Teamviewer Connection to the PC you control your Audio PC with ? Then I can have a look and solve it for you.
Let me know the Teamviewer ID via email and notice that each time you restart it you must pass me the password again (because it changes).

OK ?
