The Windows Build in my Music Server Pc is 10586.164

That is what I wanted to know. Thank you Juan.

So these old(er) versions are updated just the same (but didn't I read that for e.g. Windows 7 these updates ("KB") were available as well ?).

Best regards,
Peter

Hi Juan,

That's half of the answer to my questions.
And it is even hard to digest. Happy

Peter

OK, I am listening for over 90 minutes now to a 14/28. There is just no comparison with the 10/20. It is just ultra-ultra fast and during the first seconds I right away heard back the sound of the 16/32.
There is no tweaking of any parameter needed to let it excel the music in inordinate fashion from any angle. I say it again :

Crazy

Let's keep in mind : the speed is in the higher regions here. The 10/20 has its speed in the mid. That is as interesting (but different) and a lot cheaper ...

Hi Juan,

But do you also know how the problem was solved ?

Which Build do you have anyway (Music Server PC) ?
The obtrusive one should be 17134.48 (or smaller).

Peter

HW, Thank you for the log file.

Can you please do this :

- Check with an other album (maybe you already did that - let me know if you did).

- In settings, activate "Don't do anything with Coverart" and retry.

- Tell me whether you're using Tidal with XXHighEnd.

- Tell me what text you see in the Playlist Area after you pressed Clear.

Ok Henk-Willem. Thanks.

What about starting XXHighEnd, press Clear and quit XXHighEnd.
Does it work now at a next restart ?

If not, please do this :
Go to Settings, switch on Logging (is close to the bottom), quit XXHighEnd, restart, let the error occur - let the error be on screen (!!) and then go to the TemporaryData sub folder and find the newest log file which starts with XX. Please attach that to your next post. From there I can at least see where all stops.
After you have done this, you can cross away the error message.

Regards,
Peter

Hi Henk-Willem,

If you can still normally start XXHighEnd :
In Settings, near the top, there's the "Load Settings Preset" text with the "..." button next to it. If you click that, you can get back the settings of your choice. Take the .XXSS file from two days ago when all was fine for sure. When you clicked Open in the Explorer instance, click the Load in XXHE's Settings.

But I don't think that is going to help. If not, delete these files from the XXData folder :
!CurrentlyPlaying.LBRY
!Played.PLXX

Delete this file from your XX folder :
Played.dat

Does this help ?
If not, I am here to respond right away.

Kind regards,
Peter

PS: I changed the title of the topic so others may find it more easily when they run into a similar problem.

When I stop the music there is a disconnection of the remote desktop

Juan,

So you're saying that you can play several tracks on the audio PC, all this time the remote connection is fine (you can change volume and such) and only when you press Stop the connection is lost ?
(seems hard to imagine)

Peter

I dont want to distract from Peters Mach III thread but I can offer some supporting comments on the sound of a 6130 16/32 core system.

Hi Nick ! what a nice surprise that is !
I was waiting for you to dive into this, but it is a surprise that you are so soon with it. I mean, I felt a little bit "obtrusive" with my posts about the Stealth III, with you at about the same day telling about your latest clock etc. endeavours. And I really did not want to let "snow that under", but what to do.

For Michael and others :
Nick is quite keen on improving SQ with the soldering iron, which often requires a lot of guts, certainly the knowledge, huge time (as we know) and also some spare $. It wouldn't be the first time that Nick motivates me to try out something (including explicit pointers) in order to me next coming up with something "commercial" worked out by me, all free of charge by Nick. And aren't we all here to stimulate each other. This time it apparently worked the other way around to some degree, which is very very nice.

It is certainly not something for anyone else to try for himself as it may cost you a lot of failure and thus money. The environment is really different and I am glad hat Nick confirmed this a little.

Nick, congratulations with your sound ! yes, it really is something. grazy
I am sure you located the clock locations already. And I can tell you (seriously / genuinely) : the sound really feels as if your clock mods were applied. How that goes by description only is a bit beyond myself, but I guess this is about "interpretation" of how you write.

Best regards and thank you for sharing !

couldn't it be a problem of Windows activation in the Audio PC?

Juan, interesting pose.
I have one W10 tablet somewhere and I suppose it is up to date with W10 updates. I can try it on my own, if it is your idea that could cause your problem. But it seems hard to believe because quite some more people would be bothered by it ?
If I don't forget it, I will try it later today (I am not there at this moment).

Peter
853  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: CredSSP policy change - no RDP possible on: May 15, 2018, 10:35:04 am
Peter at the moment that is the only solution I found since I couldn't find out where the registry entry was, I will look later if it is possible to solve it as you said

Well Juan, there is one after all.

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\CredSSP\Parameters
"AllowEncryptionOracle"

The bold part may not be there yet, so create that yourself if necessary. The "AllowEncryptionOracle" is the Key to make. Give this the (DWord) value of 2.

Watch out : I noticed inconsistent behavior with a system which allows you to change the Group Policy Entry as denoted by Anthony (acg) while it does not work. So, when set to "Vulnerable", for systems where it does not help the Key receives a value of 0 (while 2 is the value which helps).
Notice : When you need to create/change this Registry Key in order to let RDP work again, *and* you first configured the "Oracle" Group Policy Value, it is best to set this Group Policy to "not configured" again, to avoid additional inconsistency; when you indeed had to apply the latter, be sure to again add the Registry Key because it will be gone now.

So the situation which seems to be consistent (for as long as it (Windows Updates) takes is :

1. Have the Group Policy "Oracle" value Not Configured.
2. Give mentioned Registry Key a value of 2.

This sustains after a reboot.

Best regards,
Peter

FYI :

This problem extends way further than RDP only and it affects all kind of authentication (log in) issues. This is what I get from my ERP life (customers not being able to connect to databases etc.).
I think I wil have more info soon and also more "solution".

Robert, may I ask, what software did you have in mind ?
And I don't want to prevent you from trying anything. My thoughts you have, but now what's next ?

Best regards,
Peter
