You can batch-convert the whole disc in one go by means of XXHighEnd. But, because there are a few bugs in 0.9z-6, it is *not* preferred to do that right now. Again wait for 0.z9-7 please.
(but maybe other means can batch-convert just the same)

Peter,
How "bad" is the problem, because I already "de-flacced" some albums (and indeed, for some tracks I get errors, but the majority goes fine)?

Cheers, Eric

Aha,  I see.
And you are right, that is how I do it, build from Originals.

It does make it awkward to rebuild a gallery from scratch.

Russ, there is a simpler way to rebuild a gallery from scratch.
Select (left-click) the first album, and now press SHIFT-END.
All albums are now selected without using the scroll bar.
Now proceed as usual.

Eric

To all music (and other) lovers in the world.

As many of us know from personal experience, music connects people.
I recently had the privilige to experience some music videos that really touched my heart. I felt the urge to share it with you. Not from the viewpoint of SQ, but from a deeper level of consciousness that connects us. It is a gift and message to the world.

69  Ultimate Audio Playback / Your thoughts about the Sound Quality / Re: Newbie asking general advice about starting up as a computer audiophile on: January 03, 2012, 02:58:50 pm
Sorry to jump in. It is fairly simple I believe.
If a SB Touch solution makes you feel happy: go for it.
If you are serious with the subject:
"asking general advice about starting up as a computer audiophile",
then follow the advice of the experienced computer audiophiles on this forum.

70  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Request to provide Shut Down option on: January 02, 2012, 06:26:10 pm
Peter,
that makes a lot of sense.
So I drop my requirement. Thanks for the explanation.

But I don't see you explaining why you can't use the MinimizeOS button right before the play ..

Peter,
the reason that you don't see me explaining it is because there is none!
It is for convenience only that I like to arrive in Minimum OS mode when I start up my PC. Also in case I was using Normal OS mode in the previous session. Is your advise to switch to Minimize OS right before the play (for some reason)?

Cheers, Eric
72  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Request to provide Shut Down option on: January 01, 2012, 05:09:31 pm
Peter,
on of the the reasons is that I am enjoying several audio/video sources. I play music through spotify, I look at YuoTube, explore new music on the internet etcetera. Doing this, I use the FireFace Audio interface. Of course I can also play this over the NOS1-DAC, but I need to set adjustments in the NOS1 Driver Controlpanel as well as the Windows standard Audio device. And this requires e.g. the Windows Audio Service to be running. And I do not prefer to Keep this service running when in Minimum OS mode.

If it is technically not a big deal, why not implement the Shut Down option? You must have you reason not to support it and I am curious what reason you have to not support the choice to Shut Down or Restart (the latter could be the default)?

Cheers,
Eric
73  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Request to provide Shut Down option on: January 01, 2012, 12:31:15 pm
Hello Peter!
We wish you and your family a happy and musical 2012!!
Many, many, many good things happened in the year 2011. Both on the SW as well as the HW side. We are all looking forward to many nice developments again in 2012.
I like to kick-off with a (simple?) request.
The Minimize OS button supports an immediate reboot. It works well and it really is one of the bigger 2011 improvements. Now could you please provide an optional Shut Down (postponing the Minimize OS reboot), instead of a reboot right away? In many cases, after working in Normal OS mode, I like to start up in Minimal OS mode at a later point in time.  So providing this option would come in very handy.
Thanks and cheers,
Eric & Michaela
74  Ultimate Audio Playback / Music Storage and convenient playback / Library Light.... on: December 04, 2011, 10:20:41 am
Peter,
would it be possible to add an option to create a "Library Light"? By that I mean a Library containing only .mta type of data. This can be used easily for Compare reasons, or to have it with you on a stick. Because of the small size of such a library it is very convenient.
Just an idea.....

Cheers

75  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Switching OS changes Loaded Sound Device? on: December 01, 2011, 11:01:28 am
Peter,
My preferred setting is KS NOS1, playing in Minimized OS.
When I switch form Minimized OS to Normal OS, XXHE loads the non-KS version automatically. So I need to correct it manually (and set the Q1 back to 30).
It is not a drama, but it is annoying.
Can I change something myself or can you do soemthing about it?

Cheers
Eric
