347  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Clic-sound before every track? on: December 27, 2009, 08:43:06 am
I can hear a small clic-sound just before every track starts. This problem are there when i use the SPDIF, no problem with USB. The SPDIF rca contact on my Dell looks bad, can that be the problem?

When i have "loaded" this albums XXHighEnd (0.9y-3) only plays the first track i pick. When i press NT the same track starts again. I have just found this problem on two album until now but i can`t fix it. Have tryed to delete the albums from the HD and put them back again without effect. There is nothing wrong with the ripping, the album is OK on Windows Mediaplayer.
351  Ultimate Audio Playback / Music Storage and convenient playback / Re: Music files on OS harddisk on: May 30, 2009, 05:59:23 pm
I belived that the music files had to stay on a external harddisk because of the sound.
I have all my music on a external harddisk, is it OK then to put it on the OS harddisk?  (and use the external harddisk as a backup)

Tore

Hi Roy!

Does this help? Dell Studio D055401 PC, Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5200 processor , Vista Ultimate, DDDac with USB/SPDIF, Integrated amp

I`m at work and can`t give you more
355  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: NO sound - have used "installation guide for dummies" on: May 27, 2009, 09:39:57 pm
Thanks for help!

Did you slide the volume up ? (when you use a pre-amp, just all the way to -0dB) : Yes

Did you choose the correct Sound Device in the Settings Area ? Do you mean Output? There i have choosen Primary Sound Driver. The other choices is different HDMI output and one RCA. No USB or SPDIF
And how is your Sound Device called ? What do you mean?

Btw, do you use Engine#3 and Vista ? Yes

On the Play button and the Info ... is there a track loaded in the Playlist Area ? I think this not being the case can be the only reason for the Play button being inaccessible and the Info data not being there. It is not posible to choose a track now when the Play button is not working. But i think it is a track loaded, ervery time when i start the xxhighend player the same track is there
356  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / NO sound - have used "installation guide for dummies" on: May 27, 2009, 06:15:05 pm
I`m new with this and have now done my first download and payed for it. But i have no sound, have tried USB and SPDIF to the DAC. The dac i working when i use a DVD-player as a drive.
Everything looks OK, the xxhighend player starts playing but no sound.
I have not installed the Hotkey yet and i was answering yes insted of no under the installation when the questinon "load previous settings" came. Because of that i deleted the downloads and tried again.

Now the player is missing the data under "info" and the "play" knob is  inaccessible .

Can someone help me?
357  Ultimate Audio Playback / Playback Tweaks and Source related subjects / VISTA 32bit or 64bit ? on: September 27, 2008, 06:12:00 pm
Hi!

I have ordered i new Dell PC with a "Intel Core 2 Duo E8400" processor, dedicated for PC-Audio. I have ordered it with Vista Ultimate and the 32bit Vista version is installated when i get it. But i think a DVD with the 64bit Vista will come with the pack.

Should i get Dell to installate the 64bit version ?  Is 64bit better to the soundquality with XXHighEnd ?

Thanks, Tore

I have burned the test-CD and then ripped the copy to see if the copy gives less glitch. But no, this gives the same number of glitch so it is nothing wrong with the original CD

The test was done with only one CD. Earlier i have seen how the number of glitch vary. Under the spinning in the drive it came some noise from the test cd. Not round??
Tomorrow i will send you a track.

I have done some testing now. Ripping with and without C2, with internal and external haddisk, with my internal Plextor Premium cd-drive and NEC dvd-drive. I use a 3 year old Dell pc. I belief in that all the glitch was because off my external WE harddisk and USB cabel.
The fastest combination was with internel harddisk, Plextor drive and C2. The speed was 12,9X.
The slowest combination was with external harddisk, NEC drive without C2.

To my surprice all the combinations gave exactly the same numbers of glitch. The cd i used gave over 5000 glitch on track 1, over 3000 glitch on track 2 and over 2000 glitch on track 3. Some cd`s gives over 200 glitch on a track and some cd`s have no glitch at all.

Can the reason to the glitch be how the cd pressing is done?
