Ultimate Audio Playback / Phasure NOS1 DAC / Re: B'ASS Current Amplifier

Hi Peter,
Just to be sure, is the B'ass ready to be ordered without VC? Because a solution could be that I add an passive attenuator between additional sources (TV or whatever) and B'ass. So the B'ass is only a input selector. And only one RCA input is needed.
Additional question: is there any reduction in SQ for the NOS1a because of this input selector? As it is something extra in the signal path. Because if that is the case, even how handy it might be, I do not want it.

Hi Peter,
Does that mean that the VC is not good for the main (nos1a) input but still useful for the additional rca inputs? Or not at all?
Or will you search for a better solution?
If this is it I would go for a 35vIx2. Plus blaxius of enough length (50 cm?) to place the B'ass next to the NOS1a.

Hi Peter,
I see in the specification that the internal memory is now 32Gb. Why is that? Does that mean that 16Gb is no longer enough or just anticipating for the future?
About the CPU. Do you have any thoughts about the much cheaper Xeon 2620V4 (octo) version? I know more cores will load a album faster but what about SQ?
Is the DVD player needed? I always use an external usb player if needed.
I am really interested in this MachII, but also a bit hesitating. What will it bring, it is not a DIY pc anymore and I am also awaiting the B'ass.

About the processor. I see that Michael is using a Xeon CPU. Maybe low wattage so it can be fanless? But still 8 cores? Not sure but I would say that a e.g. 5930K CPU (140w) cannot be used fanless, unless we can be for sure it always run at low speeds. What I remember is that Peter did stress tests at full CPU speeds for the LPS. To me that seems impossible with a 140w CPU and fanless.... I think the Noctua cooler is not that good. I could be wrong.

Hi Peter, That looks really nice! So the new LPS fits in a case like that.
One remark though, I tried a low profile in the past, but got noise issues with the CPU fan. It was to close to the top part of the case and made to much noise blowing through vent opening. More space between top vent opening and fan was needed.
