1  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Anticipated track end on: May 10, 2020, 10:12:38 am
In unattended mode I experience anticipated tracks end followed by a skip to the next one. What could I try to fix this???
The audio PC, connected via RDC, has a Intel I7 processor, slowed down to 1GHz and 8GB RAM.
I plaied a bit with the SFS values. The problem is there both with min/max set to 10.19 and with 0.39 min and 60 max.
2  Ultimate Audio Playback / Chatter and forum related stuff / Digital attenuator on: July 02, 2019, 11:43:37 am
I don't use any digital attenuation in my system, although I know that the one used in XXHe is very good, I wonder if it'd be a good idea for the upcoming V2.11 to consider the option to disable it (not only blocking it to zero, but fully bypassing the code).

Maybe most users aren't interested in that and anyway, for the highest possible SQ, that should be carefully avoided.

What do you think?

Still missing here :-(
4  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: File tagging? Or what? on: July 16, 2018, 12:51:40 pm
Files just sent. Sorry for the delay and thank you!
5  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: File tagging? Or what? on: July 03, 2018, 05:07:20 pm
Sorry for delaied reply. Today I was able to perform some checks.
Yes, I always double clicked on a cover in the library area.
The "pre" selection, in white, of the first two tracks seems to be random... sometimes the first track only, sometimes the first two. Others the second one only.

But the "XXHighEnd W10..." indication over the tracks is 100% repeteable. With some albums all the time, never with others.

Since day one with XXhe I used the double click methode, the most intuitive. And it works, although not perfectly. I believe this matter should be solved. Or the double click function totally disabled!

Thank you.

7  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / File tagging? Or what? on: June 25, 2018, 10:49:40 am
When I select an album to play it I often get tracks covered by the "XXHighEnd W10xxx - Model 2.10" indication. This doesn't happen with all of them. Do you have any idea about it? Could it be related to the hidden audio file tagging?

Also, I remember this from day one with XXhe, when I "open" an album much often the first two tracks are already "preselected". In white.

Thank you.
8  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / 2.07 to 2.09 update on: November 19, 2017, 06:44:29 pm
Just to avoid problems with already registrated software, is this update procedure correct?

- Reboot in normal OS ???
- CTRL_ALT_DEL to kill XXhengine3.exe (or whatever it's called..)
- 209updatepatch unzip onto original folder.

Thanks!

Yes... a bit confusing... I don't know it it's due to the language but you sometimes are  innocent

No, we've not yet used Volume Normalization. Do you think it'd help problem I reported?
10  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Upcoming XXhe 2.08 and volume control on: September 06, 2017, 11:38:48 am
Since years myself and a couple of friends of mine use XXhe player. Driving DIY multibit NOS dacs with custom made tube output sections. As these are the main players they're directly connected to power amps, no preamps and NO analogue volume controls. DAC's maximum output amplitude is set in a way that you can play 99.9% of the files with no need for higher gain. Tipically we play between -20 to -5db.

In our opinions this is a great sounding solution (when you don't want/need other sources)... as far as DAC's output is the "right" one :-)

Anyway, unfortunately, there are some troubles with the attenuator. Also older XXhe 1.xx behaved in the same way.

You select an album and start it. During first track you set volume at the desired level: it works fine. When second track begins MUCH often sound level is MUCH higher than before. We don't think attenuation switches to zero db but surely several db more. Really annoying. Note that display indicating attenuation doesn't change its number.

It'd be nice to see improvements in this department too with upcoming 2.08 !

What's others experience on this matter?

Thanks!

To be clear, I was only referring to the texts on the XX On Screen Keybord.

For me XX HighEnd on AudioPC supported by MusicServerPC works just fine.

Stanley

Hello Stanley. Yes, that was clear to me. I only went a bit further ;-)

Of course the current design works fine and after a while you remember most codes, but it could be more elegant, I think.  secret

Yes, I definitely also think that a dedicated mobile phone/tablet user interface should be developed! There are several reasons for that IMHO. RDC works so well and easily so I tipically expect audio pc to be connected to a wifi router.
With your phone/tablet you can control your music from listening position, without the need to install a full pc setup there... not pratical and elegant at all! Very low WAF.
Also there are good commercial motivations. XXhe isn't much user friendly; a sleek, simple and clean UI for mobile devices could change that! And be much more attractive for a - much - broader range of audiophiles.
I'd could be a good idea for the new XX DAC. Think about reviews with a couple of pictures of a mobile phone with such a graphic UI.

What do others XXhe users think about this matter?
14  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Error message on: January 16, 2017, 08:03:36 pm
Hi Peter,

FYI:
I had the same message on W10 with demo version(s) - both, 2.06 and 2.07. It is related to XXHE
automatic shut down after certain period of time. Clicking on message kills XXHE main window.
Kind od semi-automatic shut-down Happy

Brgds,
George

Same exact experience here!
15  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Slow downs when Minimized??? on: January 13, 2017, 06:23:51 pm
Ok Peter, no problem, you're right: new topic for a different problem.
Anyway I might ignore it. But if you want I can reboot in normal mode and then again in MinOS to check again and report. In a new topic.
Note, as I'm already writing, all these reboots to fix folder problem were carried out without DAC connected. I don't know if it might be related.
