46  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Necessary Privileges on: February 11, 2018, 05:40:11 pm
Hi Peter,

This is a new install of 2.09. The problem is only when trying to play Straight Continuous and everything works fine playing with "Mixed".

I've going though the forum but keep coming up with the same things I have already tried. This seems to be the same problem but no solution-

http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=3633.0

I have moved the UAC slider up and down, rebooted, changed the Registry setting to 0, etc. It always seems like everything with the UAC is correct but something is still not letting XXHighend control the memory.

There is a RAR file batch file  I found for new installs under 2.07. Is that still necessary?
47  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Necessary Privileges on: February 11, 2018, 02:42:56 pm
Hi Peter,

Yesterday I started a new install with 14393.  Everything was up and running until I tried to play unattended with the minimized OS. After the "Wiat for services  to stop", a "Necessary Privileges have been set. Reboot" showed up. After rebooting, still the same message.

The UAC is set correctly but I can remember if there is something else going on, especially if it is something particular to this build.

Best,

David

However apart from getting stutters, de Remote Desktop connections is killed.

Hi Dennis,

You need to keep the "persist" button pressed to keep the LAN while unattended (your signature list otherwise). I also need to have  "stop W10 services" unchecked or else I run into troubles and lose connection.

Best,

David

Hi Peter,

Please excuse my ignorance about all this but on other previous versions of XXHE, the burst of noise would only happen for me if I rapidly adjusted the volume in unattended, say if the phone rang or something and I tried to quickly turn it down.

I don't know how you implemented the instant volume and track changes with the new hotkeys, but is there any way they can be related? It seems the trouble happens with only one or two tracks in a playlist and not really with full albums.  Is there a too quick "turn around" which happens during a quick loading of one or two tracks which does not happen when the computer takes it's time loading an album worth of tracks?

By the way, I never received the burst of  noise when adjusting the SFS, even to extremes. I would just get clicks and such.

Very nice Tore.

You posted some great music that I had  forgotten about and it is nice to hear  again.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi Peter,

Just to clarify this , since I don't have the (a) upgrade yet, the 1.04 driver is not necessary.  Right?

Hi Peter,

I can't say I have been too interested in trying to replicate this but it has  seemed to only happen when trying to play a 1 to 3 song playlist in Unattended (always Redbook). I have not  had a problem with a full album.

I think one time the static happened at the beginning of the second song in unattended.  Today, I have only been playing albums so everything has worked perfect and btw, I am using your settings with the .9 SFS.

I know this is not too informative, but I wanted to post in case it happens to someone else.

Hello Peter,

A couple times now using 2.08d,  I've had a burst of high volume static come through the speakers. It seems to happen when playing only one or two songs on a playlist and the noise comes in at about 5 to 10 second after the music starts and scares the heck out of me. I have to quickly turn off the amp and stop XXHighEnd.

The static sound is the same which would happen on XXHighEnd a couple of years ago when repeatedly pressing down the volume to quickly.

I did not have this happen on 2.07.  Do you have any ideas what could cause this?

Best regards,

David

Hi Peter,

I also had this problem and the new patch seems to fix it so far.

Ha! you're a genius Peter. Tried both attended and unattended and it seems to be working fine.

As far as the user control "let this app make changes to your computer" on the desktop- I don't mind accepting but because this message never appeared with 2.07, I am  hesitant.

Best,

David

 Hi Peter,

Let me know if the attached file works for you. The log is from my musicPC.

The "Registry Control Tool"  pops up when using 2.08 on my desktop computer.
When using  2.07, this "tool" never popped up before trying to play music on this pc. I only play music every once in a while because once I lost the XXHighend licence and you thought maybe it was because music had not been played for a long time.

It won't really effect me, I just thought you should know.

Best,

David

One more thing. I use a regular desktop for searching and downloading from Tidal so the user controls are still Windows 10 defalts. This computer is used for other Windows programs as well.

I just tried to play music from this PC and had a couple of "Registry Control Tool " windows pop up. I selected "no" to not allow and then received the same three errors mentioned above.

I was unsure if I could accept the "Registry Control Tool" and still have my computer work as before.

Hello Peter,

After I received the errors last night and was unable to have music play, I installed the 2.07 patch over the 2.08 and everything went back to working.

Possibly in a couple of hours I can try the 2.08 patch again and send you the log file.  Can this patch be applied while minimized or should it be in the regular OS?

BTW, I am using build 10586.

Thanks,

David

Hi Peter,

I just installed 2.08 over 2.07 and now when I try to play a file three errors pop up.

The first- Caller :J could not find the file.
Second- System IO. File not Found ( From ...unicode track0001.wav.)
Third- Not enough space on playback drive.

I've been using the RAM disk for the playback drive.

I've never had these trouble before with the "overwriting" update and it is strange they suddenly came about.

Best,

David

60  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Losing RDC connection for no good reason... on: March 24, 2017, 06:25:32 pm
Thanks. I only have  music on NAS so I cannot control the audio PC by that. It seems that if a connection is lost while the music is playing in unattended, there is no way to re-establish a connection until after a hard boot.  I'll just  keep the tablet on as long as music is playing.

Brian, I haven't yet found out if I can get your suggestion to work. The issue seems to be on the audio PC side. The  losing,  then the locking up the "other user" remote connection.
