76  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Build 10074 will not find NAS on: November 28, 2015, 07:49:15 pm
I changed the date in bios and build 10586 and had no trouble connecting to the NAS. It seems the date should not be a problem.

I'm going to re-install 10074 one more time...
77  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Build 10074 will not find NAS on: November 25, 2015, 10:20:40 pm
Hello,

I have installed build 10074 twice and each time I am unable to get it to connect to the NAS music. I do not have any trouble making the connection on the newer builds.

Is it not making the connection because 10074 needs to be backdated ( I use Sept 6th)? Has anyone else had trouble with that build connecting to their NAS?

Thanks,

David

Hi Peter,

After seeing this thread, I guess I am wondering why there is a 705600 filter and a 705600 (NOS) filter. I see they have different settings but why are some labeled (NOS)?

Thanks,

David

I've kept build 10074  minimized since soon after the install, have not changed the date and it never connects to the internet. I have not yet seen a screen that says it will expire soon. is there a chance that I will never see the screen but come October first, it will not boot up correctly?

Best,

David

Hi Peter,

After re-installing 2.02 on my c drive, activation worked as it should. Now minimized W10 is up and running without any problems. (yet?)

Thanks for all your hard work!

Hello Peter,

I have been able to activate 2.02 in windows 7 and access the activated version in W10. The title bar will stay red for a track or two and then I will lose activation and the title bar will revert to blue. While the bar is red, none of the activation features (MIN or core appointment) will work either. None of this is taking place on a RAM disk.

Don't know if this helps...

82  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Normalized Volume Problem on: June 01, 2015, 10:02:52 pm
Hello Peter,

There are a couple of WAV albums (no hires, usually purchased from Qobuz) I have which when I try the normalize volume button, I receive the error "Header no good (Volume will not be normalized).  Is there an easy fix for this?

David
83  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Music stops, unattended XX 2.01 on: May 27, 2015, 04:50:35 pm
Thanks Peter,

I started the process over and now XX 2.1 is up, running and activated without any problems.

I'm still having trouble but it may be because I applied the presets before activation. Once the title bar turns red, is it still not advised to go back to the old presets?

Hello Peter,

I just had the same problem.I had no troubles with XX 2.00 but started using XX 2.01 today and noticed it stops after couple of tracks.

I think it activated correctly because I can change the Core Appointment setting. Is that still true?

Thanks,

David
86  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Dirac DSP and unattended on: March 10, 2015, 09:37:47 pm
Thanks, I just found out the problem. I checked the "Device Name contains Diacritical Marks" under the device output and now it works.

If anyone uses a DPS filter that they recommend, please let me know. I am not sold on the Dirac.

David

Hello,

I use XXHighend (W8)  minimized and unattended and recently started experimenting with Dirac DSP. I am able to have the filtering work in attended mode but once I switch to unattended there is no sound and the Dirac interface losses its steaming signal.

Does anyone have experience with  using a DSP filter which will work in unattended mode? I am thinking of looking into Acourate next but am unsure if I will just run into the same problem.

Thanks,

David
88  Ultimate Audio Playback / Phasure NOS1 DAC / Re: Any NOS1 Owners in Connecticut? on: June 29, 2014, 02:12:49 am
Thanks Tim,

You are probably about two hours away which might make an for an easier day trip. I still have not been able to make it up to Fred's or Brian's place and don't think I will be able to plan anything now until the end of July.

If you don't mind, could you e-mail me some information about your system when you have time?

Best,
David

Yes,   my dac needs 24 bit in order to play.  Now,  I may be a bit ignorant about some of this but does the custom filter make any difference without upsampling?  With the quick listen this morning,  I could have sworn there was a little bit of an improvement in the sound stage.  Am I wrong?
I've tried a couple frequency's and have trouble with upsampling any with the with the custom filter.  Some will give me an error and will play normally once I close the window about filter 5 not starting,  but others will just be the static.

Regard,

David

Hi Peter,

Yes,  first went to the F  screen and chanced the setting to the 176/192 setting before starting the engine.   I am using an Audiophileo 2 with purepower at 24 bits fed into a marantz dac.
The static that is created when upsampled has a "pulse"  to it or a regular rhythm.  The original  music is not heard at all.
I do get the warning about the filter sampling mismatch if I start from 48000 and go to 96000 but it I bump it up to 192000 then I have static with no warning.

If there  is something else you would like me to try,  let me know.

Best,

David
