Settings is now in Metro:-

Left click on window (bottom left) to get to metro.

Click settings then system

scroll down to DEFAULT APPS

you should be able to make IE the default web browser from there.

109  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Failed to set sample rate on: December 31, 2015, 05:09:14 pm
As it happens I had this error yesterday.

I  normally play without upsampling in XXHE, ie slider fully left. Mostly I play 44K but yesterday I put a 96K recording in playlist and got the Failed to set sample rate error. I could see it set the output sample rate to 48K. Moved upsampling slider one step to right and it played OK, 96K in and 96K out.

Its a while since I've played any hires recordings but I think in earlier versions of XXHE it worked OK without needing to manually set the slider.

Hi Peter

Must have been me changing the Driver Signing in XXHE for no good reason.

I tried changing it back via XXHE/normOS but after reboot it was still in test mode.

From cmd I executed the command to turn off testmode & rebooted. This got me out of testmode, but xxhe still says "drivers need not be signed" !

Thanks
Colin
112  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / W10586.0 "TEST MODE" on: December 29, 2015, 10:45:24 am
I noticed a few days ago in minOS at bottom right of screen there was watermark:-
Test Mode
W10 Pro
Build 10586

Today I noticed an additional water mark asking me to activate W10. I had previously activated W10 with my W7 license key.

Booted back to normOS, Test Mode watermark still displayed. Checked via SYSTEM and W10 is still activated.

Non of this has stopped W10 operating, but my question is should I leave it in Test Mode or apply fix to come out of Test Mode ?

Thanks

114  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: 2.04 / ramdisk settings not saved on: December 28, 2015, 11:43:13 am
1. copy to C:\XXHE204\
2. C:\XXHE204\
3. yes it worked in 2.03

Ramdisk is A:\XXHE204\ & I can see settings files is updated in there.

After changing XXHE settings they are not saved to C:\XXHE...
so do not survive a reboot. I've checked my 'copy to' location and it is correct for my system.
116  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: xxdata location on: December 20, 2015, 09:43:33 am
Hi Peter

OK its clear now with Data Folder: \xxdata\
with ramdisk this is actually A:\xxdata\ and without ramdisk its C:\xxdata\
so no need to edit Data Folder entry. Settings are saved either way.

Thanks
Colin

Hi Peter

C:\XXHE\
C:\XXDATA\
& ramdisk
A:\XXHE\
A:\XXDATA\

what are your settings for:-
Copy settings to:
Data folder:

Thanks

Hi Peter

Its in here: http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=2695.msg27850#msg27850

but now I see it says its replaced by this one: http://www.phasure.com/index.php?topic=2915.msg30750#msg30750

however that one does not say anything about XXData location.

Rama.bat says to use C:\XXDATA\

Hi peter

To put it another way

From the 'using ram disk' tutorial:-
Now, in order to preserve the important settings during our playback sessions, we need to change that \XXData\ into C:\XXData (see Data Folder in XXHighEnd Settings).
When this has been applied, a lot of things will be preserved at system shutdown, which otherwise are lost. No need to explain exactly which, but just apply this change.

With this setting I don't think the copy of xxdata created by RAMA.bat @ A:\XXDATA is needed.

With ramdisk RAMA copies C:\XXDATA to A:\XXDATA

But instruction for settings say to make Data Folder C:\XXDATA so does A:\XXDATA folder actually get used ?
