I have date set back 2 years for some time and no problem at all, that after I have activated XXHE with a September date. I'm not using RDC though.

Sometimes replay does not start at first track in playlist in unattended play. Its very random play can start at most any track in play list. Always though I can see its processing the required tracks when Play button pressed. It happens with different PC's, OS or XX versions but is maybe more frequent since using ramdisks.

Hi Peter & everyone trying 10586

In minOS mode I agree sound quality is not great with 2.03/10586. But a tip from another user may well change your opinion. Just go back to normal OS and change to Q5=2 (if you were previously Q5=1). Seems a silly idea I know but works wonders for me, the music is back!.

When I try to map drive I get message "you do not have permission to access"

Can't find a way past this.

Music PC has the right share setting I think.

I may have messed it up but can't find a way to delete the network and start again.

When I select \\colin-pc\music\ as music root I get message "Sorry but music root must be a folder for cover art reasons"

Example \\colin-pc\music\barb jungr\love me tender\

In attended mode it and other albums play without further messages.

In unattended mode I get message after alt-p "music root must be a folder" when play finished get the message again.

It happens with all album folders irrespective of whether they contain cover art or not.

Its my first setup of network folder for music.

It all works the messages are just an irritation for me.

There are subfolders also for artist & album

With \\colin-pc\music\ as music root clicking L shows artist folder and then album

I get error messages saying location needs to be a folder for coverart reasons, I click away these messages and playback works with coverart !. Messages appear every time play starts & stops.

My initial assesment of sound quality with W10_10586.0/XX2.03 is that it is excellent and just as good as W10074/XX2.02.

I do recommend to install 10586 without updates just in case further updates affect SQ. To do this create iso from here:- http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/9230-windows-10-iso-download.html

Disconnect from internet during install

When installed re connect install media and run the attached program to install Net3.5 offline.

Now you can install XX and stop Windows Updates before connecting to internet

Always use Save As on the DISM link below or otherwise the program will be executed right away (quite harmless but sure not intentional).

I've not installed 2.03 yet, it will be a few days before I can comment on SQ.

In XXHE it just says W10.

Boot in safe mode it will show 10586 so value must be stored somewhere.

Also check for installed updates, if there are some I guess that means its 10586.? Maybe they can be uninstalled.

As posted earlier I downloaded W10 1511 from Microsoft TechBench via this link http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/9230-windows-10-iso-download.html

It installed 10586 not 10586.3 or other variants, I'll call it 10586.0. I know this because Safe Boot shows version as 10586. Also Windows update shows no updates installed. Net3.5 was installed offline so that XXHE could be installed to stop updates with minimal risk of updates sneaking in. I was able to activate 1511 with my W7 product key so its a licensed install now.

No guarantee that the TechBench will continue to provide 10586.0

Its preferable we all use same version in case version 10586.? makes sound worst.
