151  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / W10074 won't install on: July 15, 2015, 09:09:29 am
Have tried to install W10074 on a second laptop (Samsung S3511 core i3 3GB RAM). Install drive flashes and the Blue Window displays, install drive stops flashing and nothing else happens.

I know my install media is OK, I've tried both USB & DVD install. W7 is already installed & it can boot from a W7 DVD.

Can't find anything in the bios causing W10074 not to install. BIOS is Phoenix SecureCore https://www.phoenix.com/docs/securecore_ds_en.pdf

Must be something specific to this PC. I want to make it dual boot.

If anyone has suggestion or had similar experience please reply.

152  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Time Stability does not display a value W10074 XX 2.02 on: June 26, 2015, 05:39:12 pm
OK so this is new to me, previously I used W7 so ignored Time Stability.

Default display is:-'                (Use Refresh)'
Press Refresh and it displays :- Stable
After every start of XXHE and also after unattended play I have to press Refresh to display :- 'Stable'

So I take it that's normal behavior.

If I don't press Refresh is it in Stable mode ? and I would only need to press Refresh then Change if I wanted to use 'Not Stable' mode ?

Thanks
Colin

Time Stability does not display a value, it never has since installing W10074. If I click REFRESH it shows "STABLE" but restart XXHE and it goes back to no value displayed.
154  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: W10074 XX2.02 error msg @ start of play on: June 26, 2015, 10:10:02 am
Thanks Peter,

I should have said the "garbage collect" message came up before the "the counter layout for category specified is invalid............." message. As you suggest with Garbage Collect turned of I don't get either message. Not keen on going back to a restore point at moment.

Time Stability however does not display a value, it never has since installing W10074. If I click REFRESH it shows "STABLE" but restart XXHE and it goes back to no value displayed, I'll make this another Subject if you like.
155  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / W10074 XX2.02 error msg @ start of play on: June 25, 2015, 12:53:23 pm
I get this message when I click play in minOS:- "the counter layout for category specified is invalid.............". I click away the message, press STOP then press play again & play starts ok. The issue occurs after every reboot. This may have started after I did a refresh of "time stability(W8)" which then asked for a reboot.
156  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Getting the W10 build 10074 and nothing else on: June 18, 2015, 01:16:01 pm
I've just checked and restore points are still there in W10 & W7 of my dual boot system. I can't say whether they will work because I have never had to do a restore of either OS. I'm not to worried XX sound quality is so much better in W10 that W10 can stay minimized & W7 can stay normal OS. Restore settings in each OS are just set to restore their own drive not both drives.
157  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: XX2.02 W10074 XX says it is Win32NT on: June 18, 2015, 01:04:46 pm
Hi Peter

Thanks for reply, XX would not let me reboot into Normal OS. Eventually I remembered that service winmgmt needed to be restarted in Task Mgr but to do this service Remote Procedure Call also had to be restarted. Then XX recognised OS as W10 and all was fine. I went to Normal OS and back to Min OS just to be sure.

I think what caused problem was probably that I did Alt-X during unattended play but did not stop play before shutting down.

I remember this problem from a long time ago was caused by not closing XX before shutdown but my last shutdown was via Stop button in XX.

Can't remember how I cured it. I'm in MinOS if I try to go back to full OS it says'not allowed for XP'

I installed W10074 dual boot on my W7 laptop and its all working OK. XX202 sounds promising. I followed these instructions for the installation :- http://www.howtogeek.com/197647/how-to-dual-boot-windows-10-with-windows-7-or-8/

I could only get 10GB free space for W10 but it was enough, actually 8GB used.

Now I can leave W10 minimized still access my music on the W7 drive and do any other tasks in W7. Nice !!

I've solved my problem. XXHE activation was not completed. Now its activated I can Minimize OS.
161  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Restore Point Probem W10 XX202 on: June 11, 2015, 08:01:21 pm
I had same problem but found that system protection was disabled in the System Protection window (same one that you set the disk space usage). I clicked the turn on system protection button in that window and was then able to create restore point via XXHE.

Restore point created OK but got message:- We're sorry but reboot into minimized OS cannot continue :
163  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Playback Drive Format on: January 10, 2014, 12:02:48 pm
Thanks Coen

For me also XXHE has changed it to exFAT.

I think there's no gain for me using playback drive. In terms of speed that is.

Hi Peter

I have 7GB unformated on my drive so for now I will format it NTFS 64K clusters using W7 partition utility and see how it goes.

Thanks
Colin

Your page on formating gives this command:-
format F: /fs:exFAT /q

Should it not include command for 64K cluster:-

F: /FS:exfat /A:64000 /Q
