Hi Peter,

I am using drive G in xxhiend as before(my music files computer drive D contains the music files and it is mounted in xxhiend drive G). It is the same as what you set up for me before. I just changed my hard drive to another one in my music files computer. It is originally named drive G in music file computer so nothing show up in xxhiend because the drive G in xxhiend should be equal to drive D of my music file computer not drive G. So I changed the drive name of my music files hard disc to drive D in music files computer then the files and coverart showed up in xxhiend but no music come out. I suspect some of the files now has a different path so there is confusion.

How can I delete the previous library paths so as to avoid confusion?

Or can I start from scratch to create the music files site in xxhiend again?

The hard drive has been used in other computers and working OK so it is not the 2T limit problem. My previous hard disc is also 8Tb hard disc.

I need some help here. I use a windows10 computer to store my music files and it is connected to my Stealth II xxhiend computer by ethernet. I recently changed my hard disc(now containing 3.4Tb) in my windows 10 computer. I have changed the drive number back to the previous hard disc namely drive D. But then I had a problem of cannot get any music to play again. The library structure is there, coverart is there but just no music when I press play.  Any idea where did I go wrong? Thanks.

Hi Peter,

I did not turn off the xxHighEnd the day before and when I returned today the xxHighEnd still hangs there. I have to power it off and reboot and then everything goes back to normal. No more error messages. So could it be that the other day there were too many new files that it takes a bit of time to settle? Don't know whjat happens. And my computer with the music files is also normal. All the files are in the 8Tb hard disc.

Thanks and regards,

Leung

Thanks Peter,

I formatted the 8Tb HGST Helium HDD with GPT since it is larger than 2Tb and are only presented to Windows 10 computer. I did not notice the popup you said. But the data doesn't matter because I have a backup. I will go back and check it later.

As for the sequence of the messages it is at first music stopped and a message saying data not coming fast enough so I pressed Alt R to go back to front page and double click xxHighEnd again then the message showed that there is no connection to endpoint and a separate box saying unknown harddisc error.

Unfortunately I am tied up tonight and will check all the things again tomorrow and come back to you.

Need some help again.

I recently changed my hard disc in my music data computer( I use a separate W10 computer storing my music files and connected to the xxHighEnd computer through directly connected Lan cable). It was working fine before I changed the music files (2Tb hard disc) to another hard disc 8Tb hard disc containing 1.5Tb music files). After I changed it there is no problem showing up the files in the Library and also no problem playing one of the files but it stopped in the middle of playing and an error message saying the data is not coming fast enough. I restarted the xxHighEnd player can access the Library but not able to play any more only showing up error message of cannot connect to end point and unknown harddisc error?
Any idea what went wrong? Thanks.

8  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / odd problems with playback on: July 08, 2017, 05:36:10 am
I need some help here.

I got my NOS1a upgraded to G3 about a month ago. I have been enjoying its sound which is really lively and full. But I also noticed some odd behaviour too.(not sure whether it has been there before since the upgraded G3 gives you everything so clearly that perhaps I am hearing some problem that is there before but not noticed before).

(1) There is occasionally some blurring in the highs usually in the left channel. It is like when you have some dust in your cartridge when you play LP. It usually occurs when there is a full orchestra playing loud passages.
(2) When I start to play the music again after stopping for a day or so the balance in the channels is not equal. The left channel is much louder than the right. Something like 70/30. I have to turn off the NOS1a G3 and restart then it goes back to normal.

I am not sure where is the problem? Hardware or software? I have ruled out problems in other components of my sound system because there is no problem of this sort when I use other sources and I have also changed the connecting XLR cables but the problem still persists. Could it be the RAM is not functioning properly? Or is there anywhere I need to clear some unnecessary files? Or is it because I am still using the xxHighend 2.06? How to update to 2.07?

Thanks for any guidance.

9  Ultimate Audio Playback / Cables (Community induced) / Re: The Lush on: July 03, 2017, 11:51:45 am

Thank you Leung. I take it that it is your suggestion to send out the Lush the soonest and separately from the Stealth, because the Stealth will take some longer time to produce - think in terms of a few weeks (may be 3-4).

Peter

Hi Peter,
It's good if you can send out the Lush first. It is also ok if you would like to combine it with the Mach II. Thanks.

Hi Peter,

Can I have a 150cm Lush. Thanks.

And when you have time I would like to have a Stealth Mach II with linear power supply too. But right now enjoy your trip. Thanks.

12  Ultimate Audio Playback / XXHighEnd Support / Re: Your first RAM-OS Disk Upgrade ! 14393.0 on: September 25, 2016, 04:53:06 pm
Hi Peter,

Finally got some time and fixed the settings in the 14393. And yes this OS is really great. The 10586 is very detailed but to my ears it lacked the last ounce of musical feeling and this 14393 just gives me that feeling and the sound is really very enjoyable now. Listen to that deep bass sounding nicely and naturally. The strings just seems to play right in front of you. This is really great. Can't imagine what improvement there could be with the Stealth Mach II PC ???!!! Thanks.

Hi Peter,

Yes it works after removing copy from the name. After several attempts I can enter into the 14393 Ram.

But all the old settings in 10586 are lost in this new OS so I need to set all the library again. Not sure I can still remember that. Let me try first. I may need your help again if I can't fix that. Thanks.

I need some help here.
I have tried to upgrade to 14393 but not successful.

First I upgraded the  service OS to 10565 and there is no problem with that.
I got the 14393 OS in my win 10 64 bit work computer and extracted the OS and put it on my USB drive in NTFS. I then follow the step 1 in the first post of this thread and copy the 14393 OS to drive C. Strangely afterwards there is only one entry of MyW10-14393-copy.vhd but no MyW10-14393.vhd in drive C.
When I add 14393 under new in the boot menu there is a check in the box repair along the line of the W10-14393 base . And the box repair with is empty. I have tried 3 to 4 times and the result is the same. Trial to boot from 14393 Ram memory also failed.

I am not sure what went wrong in my steps?
Can anyone give me some help? thanks.
